Will YOU Save Freedom? Catch The Tea Party Wave

The U.S. Senate houses much of the nation's political "aristocracy." Senators have great power and visibility, much more concentrated than in the House of Representatives, where members represent less than a quarter of  the people that a Senator does. The Senate also confirms key judicial positions, treaties, makes laws with the House and can even remove a President after the House impeaches one.

The Senate has been mostly under control of the Democrats since WWII. The Democrat supermajority over several years enabled them to ram through Obamacare and much else very damaging legislation and appointments, including Sotomayer, Kagan, Geithner and more, although RINO's assisted with that.

The 2010 election greatly reduced that Democrat majority, which may be eliminated, if the oposition plays its cards right in 2012. However, it would be a very hollow victory if RINO's are put in place of Democrats.

Although this forum discussion is for the California race, key strategic races in other states are equally important and more likely to be won by candidates with priorities closer to Tea party interests.

Senate Conservatives Fund

Jim DeMint's PAC to help elect true Conservative Senators. Please consider supporting this.

Dear Fellow Conservative:

I'm U.S. Senator Jim DeMint and I'm writing to you today as Chairman of the Senate Conservatives Fund.

Thanks to the support of thousands of Redstate readers Americans like you, the Senate Conservatives Fund was the #1 leadership PAC in the 2010 elections, raising more than $9.2 million to help elect conservative candidates to the U.S. Senate.

We took a stand against the bailouts, the takeovers, and the big-government power grabs. We fought the deeply-entrenched Washington establishment and helped conservatives win races the Beltway elites said we never could.

During those tumultuous times, there was a lot going on behind the scenes that I was not able to share. Now, looking ahead to the 2012 election, I feel that I must.

The Great American Awakening: Two years that changed America, Washington, and me is a detailed account of how Americans like you inspired me to keep fighting even when it seemed like conservatives would never make a comeback. In the book, I explain why I feel more motivated than ever to keep pushing for conservative victory today.

Donate $20 and Get Jim DeMint's New Book
After Republicans were routed in the 2006 election, I tried to convince my Senate colleagues to make changes to ensure fiscal responsibility within the party. They didn't listen. I tried again in 2008, after Republicans lost even more seats and Barack Obama was elected President. One high-ranking official bluntly told me, "Jim, you can't change the Senate."

That was one of the lowest points of my political career. I was demoralized and felt utterly alone. But, I wasn't. I soon found out there were millions of Americans who were fed up and frustrated with Washington just like me.

So, I decided to change the Senate by working with you to change the people we send to the Senate.

If we had not gotten involved in the Republican primary process last year, we'd have Senator Charlie Crist from Florida instead of Senator Marco Rubio, Senator Arlen Specter from Pennsylvania instead of Senator Pat Toomey, and Senator Bob Bennett from Utah instead of Senator Mike Lee. We even have a Tea Party Caucus in the Senate now, led by Kentucky Senator Rand Paul!

Of course, there's much more to the story than that. In my new book, The Great American Awakening, I chronicle the two years from the 2008 presidential election through the midterms of 2010 from my perspective as an outsider working inside Washington.

Donate $20 and Get Jim DeMint's New Book
During that time, it felt like I was living in two different worlds. In Washington, trillion-dollar bills whizzed through the House and Senate and to the president's desk with little consideration or concern. But outside Washington people were taking to the streets to protest.

Patriotic Americans who adopted the cause of freedom were demonized by the media and the Democrat machine, but you never backed down. And, every day I am thankful you didn't.

I really want you to read The Great American Awakening and to help us keep fighting to elect even more principled leaders to the Senate in 2012. In fact, I will send you a copy of my new book before it's scheduled to hit bookstores on July 4 if you make a contribution of $20 or more to the Senate Conservatives Fund today.

And when you support the Senate Conservatives Fund, you can rest easy knowing that your money will not be used to help elect wishy-washy Republicans. The Senate Conservatives Fund does not support liberal Republicans and it does not support incumbent Republicans. We only back new leaders who are willing to stand up to the big spenders in both political parties.

Help SCF Elect True Conservatives
To get our endorsement and support, candidates must pledge to fight for the principles of limited government, a strong national defense, and traditional family values. Our candidates must fully support our mission to:
  • Defend the Constitution
  • Balance the budget
  • Eliminate earmarks
  • Reform entitlements
  • Stop all tax increases
  • Repeal government-run health care
  • Secure our borders
  • Protect the Second Amendment
  • Defend innocent human life
  • Strengthen our national security
It was truly an honor to fight alongside freedom-loving Americans like you for conservative victory in 2010. Please join our team and help us do it again in 2012.

The 2012 elections could be our last chance to save our country from financial collapse. We must elect new leaders to the Senate who will stop massive spending and debt before it's too late.

Thank you for your consideration.

Jim DeMint
United States Senator
Chairman, Senate Conservatives Fund

P.S. Please make a contribution of $20 or more to the Senate Conservatives Fund and I will send you an advance copy of my new book, The Great American Awakening.

Jon Bruning for Senate- Instead of Nelson

I’ve just learned that the Tea Party Express has endorsed my campaign for the United States Senate!

Here’s what you need to know:
  • First: I'm running to defeat Democrat Ben Nelson, the infamous 60th deciding vote for Obamacare, the atrocious government takeover of healthcare.
  • Second:  He traded his 11th hour vote after asking for, and receiving, the now infamous $100 million "Cornhusker Kickback" from President Obama and Harry Reid.
  • Third: He has pocketed hundreds of thousands of dollars into his campaign war chest since Obamacare passed, mostly from special interests.
  • Lastly: I am a proven conservative and I will defeat him – but I need your help!
The Tea Party Express recognizes I have the experience and the conservative credentials desperately needed in the United States Senate.
We need to build a REAL conservative majority in the Senate or we will fail to overturn the terrible legislation (like Obamacare) thrusting us further in to massive debt.
I remember just one year ago, sitting in my office, watching C-SPAN as Senator Nelson cast his vote in favor of this terrible bill. 8 minutes later, as Attorney General of the Nebraska, I filed a lawsuit in Federal court with 12 other states. We won the first round of the lawsuit but it’s not over yet!
This reckless course of our current fiscal trajectory will only change when we change the Senate!
Think about the terrible situation liberal Democrats have put us in:
  • A massive taxpayer bailout for Wall Street
  • $14 Trillion in debt.
  • A government takeover of one-sixth of our economy
  • Spending, spending, spending and more spending
This has to stop and you can start today.

Jon Bruning
Attorney General, Nebraska
Candidate for United States Senate
P.S. I'm sure you remember hearing about the "Corkhusker Kickback" when it was exposed last Spring.  And if you're anything like me you were absolutely disgusted.  I'm doing something about it... running to defeat Ben Nelson.

The Eagle Scout hits the sawdust

By Wesley Pruden

Once upon a time, summertime was camp-meeting time all over Indiana, but now not quite so much. Nevertheless, it’s a season for politicians to hit the sawdust trail in search of something that passes for the old-time religion. Judgment Day is at hand.

You could ask Dick Lugar, still the Eagle Scout at 79 and the senior Republican senator back home again in Indiana. He has been untouchable since he went to the Senate from City Hall in Indianapolis in 1977. He’s up for re-election next year.

Only yesterday, he took pride in being Barack Obama’s favorite Republican. And why wouldn’t he be? Three weeks before the ‘08 presidential election, he all but endorsed Mr. Obama. The Democratic candidate had revealed how naive he was when he talked of wanting to sit down with the bad guys of the world to talk about peace, love and what a wonderful world it would be when lions lie down with lambs without eating them. Mr. Obama imagined he could charm Mahmoud Ahmadinejad of Iran with honeyed talk of hope and change. Mr. Lugar, the only Republican saint in the Senate, loved it.

Mr. Lugar is a prophet without honor among conservatives, of whom Indiana has plenty.

“He correctly cautions against the implication that hostile nations must be dealt with almost exclusively through isolation or military force,” the senator said of Barack Obama. “In some cases, refusing to talk can even be dangerous.” Mr. Lugar, who fancies himself as knowing more about foreign affairs than almost anyone else, cited North Korea as a shining diplomatic success. He predicted that Syria and Iran would be the next success stories if only the Republicans would listen to the wisdom of the messiah from Chicago.

Such talk in the homestretch of the presidential campaign didn’t make Mr. Lugar the prince of the party, but soon made him a prophet without honor among conservatives, of whom Indiana has plenty. He later gave President Obama a grade of ‘A’ for his first few months in office.

Not to worry, or so he thought. He was sitting on a campaign chest of $2.3 million dollars and basking in the hosannas of the New York Times and others of the so-called elites who can’t imagine why everyone doesn’t think the way they do.

Then along came the Tea Party, shuffling the deck in a way that Mr. Lugar and the A-student president couldn’t have imagined, the emergence of a movement of voters who decline to tug their forelocks and say “thank you” for the guidance of their betters. Such ignorance. Such effrontery.

John Danforth, the former senator from Missouri who has never gotten over himself, either, has been driven within an inch of despair. “If Dick Lugar,” he says, “having served five terms in the U.S. Senate and being the most respected person in the Senate and the leading authority on foreign policy, is seriously challenged by anybody in the Republican Party, we have gone so far overboard that we are beyond redemption.” This was an odd remark from a man who was once the Episcopal priest The Washington Post called “St. Jack.”

The “most respected person in the U.S. Senate” couldn’t understand why any right-thinking person wouldn’t agree with his support for more arms treaties with the Russians and more restrictions on the right of Americans to own guns, his eagerness to repeal “don’t ask-don’t tell,” his votes for Obama economic schemes, his opposition to a Republican moratorium on earmarks and his votes to confirm Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan to the Supreme Court.

But now, just in time for the 2012 election campaign, he’s grading President Obama on a steeper curve. No more A’s. When Al Hunt of Bloomberg News asked him the other day how he now grades the president, he replied: “I think at best a ‘C.’” He’s skeptical of the president’s insistence that the bombing of Libya is not really meant to get rid of Moammar Gadhafi, only to persuade him be a nice guy. He has softened his once-withering criticism of Tea Party conservatives.

Richard Mourdock, the Republican state treasurer who announced a primary challenge in February, is a Tea Party favorite, but he is careful of sounding rude and impolite. He wants to save Mr. Lugar from an embarrassing exit. “I don’t think any Hoosier, and this includes myself, wants to see the last image of Sen. Lugar’s career being a concession speech,” he says. “We really do have great respect for him. But I hear it 500 times a day, people come up to me and say, ‘thank you for running,’ and two words: ‘it’s time.’”

Senate Conservatives Fund
Dear Fellow Conservatives:

I am very proud to announce the endorsement of State Treasurer Josh Mandel for U.S. Senate in Ohio.

This is the first Senate Conservatives Fund endorsement for the 2012 elections, and we're launching an all-out SCF Surge to raise $100,000 for Josh Mandel's campaign before the end of the week. Please make a contribution today so he can defeat U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio), the most liberal politician in the Senate.

In the Republican primary race, Josh Mandel is the candidate favored by the grassroots. SCF members in Ohio are very excited about his candidacy and have urged us to support his Senate campaign. We're answering the call today, and we're going to do everything we can to help the people of Ohio elect a new senator who shares their values.

Record of Results

Josh Mandel is a true conservative with an impressive record of accomplishment.

He served 8 years in the Marine Corps Reserves, 3 years as a city councilman, 4 years as a state legislator, and is currently the state treasurer in Ohio.

Having served two tours in Iraq as a Marine intelligence specialist and having been elected to local and state offices in Ohio, there is no question that Josh Mandel has served his country and his state with honor and distinction.

As city councilman, Josh Mandel led the fight for the first property tax rollback in his city's history. In the state legislature, he stood up to the teacher's unions to expand school choices for children with special needs. And as state treasurer, he has cut spending and is working to make state government more transparent. This is a remarkable young man who has accomplished more in the last 10 years than most senators accomplish in lifetime.

I have personally gotten to know Josh over the past several months and our team has thoroughly reviewed his record. What we learned is that Josh and his wife, Ilana, are united in taking on this challenge for all the right reasons. We're confident that Josh Mandel has the courage to go to Washington and stand up to the big spenders in both political parties.

This man is a leader and we need him in the United States Senate.

Principled Conservative

Josh Mandel is a full-spectrum conservative with a genuine commitment to the timeless American principles of limited government, a strong national defense, and traditional family values.

Josh Mandel strongly supports all of the SCF policy goals. He supports the Balanced Budget Amendment, a ban on congressional earmarks, a ban on government bailouts, and the full repeal of President Obama's health care takeover. He is also 100% pro-life, supports traditional marriage, and will defend our Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms.

If Josh Mandel is nominated by Republicans in Ohio to face Sherrod Brown next November, it will be one of the biggest political showdowns in the country. The race will pit a young conservative leader with the principles and determination to restore America's greatness against a liberal career politician who is responsible for near double-digit unemployment and over $14 trillion in debt.

Consider the contrast:
  • Brown voted FOR the Wall Street bailout. Mandel opposes it.
  • Brown voted FOR the $787 billion stimulus bill. Mandel opposes it.
  • Brown voted FOR President Obama's government takeover of healthcare. Mandel wants to repeal it.
  • Brown voted FOR the Cash for Clunkers program. Mandel opposes it.
  • Brown voted for FOR union intimidation using "card check" elections. Mandel opposes card check.
  • Brown voted AGAINST permanent repeal of the death tax. Mandel supports full repeal.
  • Brown voted AGAINST the earmark moratorium. Mandel supports the ban.
  • Brown voted AGAINST defunding Planned Parenthood. Mandel supports defunding it.
  • Brown SUPPORTS cap-and-trade legislation that will destroy jobs. Mandel opposes it.
  • Brown SUPPORTS raising the debt limit. Mandel opposes it.
On issue after issue, the choice is clear. Josh Mandel fights for freedom while Sherrod Brown fights for dependency.

SCF Fundraising Surge

The second quarter reporting period ends this Thursday, June 30 at midnight. We need to launch Josh Mandel's campaign by raising as much money for him as possible over the next three days.

Please make a secure, online contribution to Josh Mandel's campaign today, and help the Senate Conservatives Fund reach our goal of raising $100,000 before the second quarter deadline.

When you make a contribution to Josh Mandel's campaign through the Senate Conservatives Fund, we pay all of processing fees so he gets 100 percent of your donation. He will also benefit from knowing that conservatives are standing with him in this fight for our nation's future.

Thank you for your willingness to fight for America's future. Together, we can take America back.

My vote for Kagan says elections matter (Sen. Lindsey Graham)

This guy is a very destructive RINO, who has backed a lot of appointments and bills contrary to our interests. For example, do you like Kagan and Sotomayer in SCOTUS?  Well, if it was not for Graham, they would not be there!

Even if you don't live in SC, you can help get him out via political contributions, blogging, calling.  His term expires next year. The place to get him is in the primary. If Jim DeMint backs someone else in the primary. contribute to the Senate Conservatives Fund to help us be rid of Graham.

2012 California Senatorial Candidates.

In addition to Democrat Diane Feinstein, we have heard that Republicans Michael Reagan, radio talk show host and son of the Gipper, and Orly Taitz, known for her legal activities to unseat Obama, are considering runs.  Don't know the plans of 2010 candidates Carly Fiorina, Tom Campbell and Chuck DeVore.

We have also heard that Steve Poizner, Darryl Issa and James Rogan may give it a try.

Senate Conservatives Fund
Fellow Conservatives:

I have some very important news about the Republican primary race for U.S. Senate in Texas.

As you know, the Senate Conservatives Fund has endorsed Ted Cruz, the former Solicitor General of Texas. He is running against Lt. Governor David Dewhurst who is almost universally known throughout the state and has pockets deep enough to self-fund his entire campaign. There is no question that conservatives have an uphill climb in this race.

But a new poll released yesterday indicates that we're making real progress. The survey conducted by the Texas Tribune and the University of Texas shows Dewhurst at 22% and Cruz at 10%.

This is very good news for two reasons: Cruz's support has more than doubled in the past few months and Dewhurst's support has dropped by half. Earlier this year, Dewhurst had a massive 30-point lead. Now, this a 12-point race.

In fact, University of Texas pollster Daron Shaw said, “Those who thought Cruz was using the Senate race as a proving ground, they may want to think again -- I think it’s going to be a horse race.”

The Cruz surge is beginning to make liberals very uncomfortable.

In the past two weeks, he has been the target of bogus biographical attacks similar to the ones leveled by the Washington Post against U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL). Like Rubio, Cruz's father fled Cuba to escape oppression. You see, liberals are extremely threatened by Hispanic conservatives who don't share their philosophy of government dependency.

Winning this race remains a tremendous challenge. Not only is Ted Cruz up against the liberal media and a well-funded opponent, he is still relatively unknown in Texas. Also, David Dewhurst -- his chief opponent in the primary -- is ducking candidate forums and other public appearances, which makes it difficult for the voters to compare and contrast their views and records.

Ted Cruz recently invited Dewhurst to participate in a series of Lincoln-Douglas style debates, but so far the Lt. Governor has not agreed. He's probably being advised to avoid these debates, but he's running for the United States Senate and owes it to the voters in Texas to discuss the issues in an open way.

Finally, I want to thank each of you for investing your time and resources in this critical race. Because of your generous support, SCF has now invested over $280,000 in Cruz's campaign. This includes the funds our members donated directly to his campaign as well as the independent expenditures SCF has made supporting him.

Thank you for being part of the Senate Conservatives Fund team. We live in the greatest country in the world and your efforts will help us keep it that way.

Senate Conservatives Fund
Fellow Conservatives:

I'm proud to announce the next Senate Conservatives Fund (SCF) endorsement for Don Stenberg who is running for the U.S. Senate in Nebraska against Democrat incumbent U.S. Senator Ben Nelson, the author of the infamous Cornhusker Kickback.

This is one of the most important battleground races in the 2012 elections so please take a moment to read this urgent update.

We have thoroughly evaluated each of the candidates in this race and we've waited patiently to see which one would emerge as the true conservative standout. Over the past several months Don Stenberg has won the support of Tea Party and conservative groups in Nebraska, as well as endorsements from national grassroots leaders like FreedomWorks, editor Erick Erickson, conservative radio talk show host Mark Levin, and U.S. Senator Mike Lee (R-UT).

It's now clear that the conservative movement has lined up behind Don Stenberg, and for good reason.

Don Stenberg is a lifelong conservative with the principles, integrity, and courage needed to stand up to the big spenders in both political parties in Washington.

Don Stenberg supports all of the SCF policy goals. He backs a strong constitutional amendment to force Congress to balance the budget, robust domestic energy exploration, and the full repeal of ObamaCare. Stenberg opposes earmarks, corporate bailouts, and amnesty for illegal immigrants, and he is 100% pro-life, pro-marriage, and pro-Second Amendment.

Like Josh Mandel in Ohio and Ted Cruz in Texas, Stenberg is a true conservative leader who will fight for the principles of freedom that make America great.

About this time two years ago, Democrat incumbent Ben Nelson was working behind closed doors to exchange his vote on ObamaCare for the Cornhusker Kickback. And just one year ago, Ben Nelson was vigorously defending pork-barrel spending as Senate conservatives were forcing Republicans to swear off earmarks.

Ben Nelson is part of the problem in Washington. It's critical that freedom-loving Americans work together to replace him with a proven conservative who will fight to repeal the government takeover of our nation's healthcare system. ObamaCare does not only threatens to bankrupt our country, it will also take away the freedom to make our own healthcare decisions.

Don Stenberg is not only the strongest conservative in the race, but we also believe he's the most electable. Recent polling shows Stenberg holding a consistent lead over Nelson while the other Republican candidates are fading. This isn't surprising. Stenberg has served the people of Nebraska with distinction as their Attorney General (1991-2003) and now as their State Treasurer (2011-present). They know where he stands and they know they can count on him to do what he says he'll do.

The biggest challenge for Stenberg is fundraising. The one complaint I hear most about him from the DC political class is that he can't raise money. This, of course, should be expected. He's a grassroots candidate and doesn't have national fundraising connections like establishment candidates.

We're endorsing Don Stenberg today because we believe the SCF grassroots network can help solve this fundraising problem and eliminate this objection once and for all. It's also why we're launching a new "SCF Surge" campaign to raise $100,000 for Don Stenberg over the next seven days. Next Tuesday is the one-year anniversary of the day Senate conservatives banned earmarks so it's a fitting deadline for a fundraising campaign that will help defeat the author and defender of the Cornhusker Kickback.

Please help us reach our goal by visiting our website and making a .... If you would like to donate by telephone, please call our donation hotline at (877) 571-4376.

Thank you for your continued support and encouragement. Together, I'm confident we can build a conservative majority in the United States Senate and take our country back.

P.S. Don Stenberg has a deep appreciation for our nation's founding principles, and his worldview is shaped by a sincere belief in God as the author of our freedoms. He is someone conservatives can count on to do the right thing -- when it's popular and when it's not. Please make a contribution to Don Stenberg's campaign so he can defeat U.S. Senator Ben Nelson.

Platform of U.S. Senate Candidate Dr. Orly Taitz (California)

If you are happy with the way things are going in the country and in CA, then vote to reelect Senator Feinstein. If you want real change, new jobs to help reverse our failing economy, solutions to the worst unemployment since the Great Depression, vote for me.  A number of years ago, a sitting CA Senator ran under a slogan "Barbara Boxer gives a damn". Today I am running under a slogan "Orly Taitz gives a damn," as I am sick and tired of career politicians who do not care about 99.9% of the country.

1.  I will bring forward legislative proposals to accelerate domestic energy production, particularly in CA. We need to review EPA provisions, which make US energy production limited and costly and which cost us millions of lost jobs. We have to modify some of those requirements and place tariffs on foreign oil, which was produced without such costly requirements. We need to level the playing field for American workers and American energy production.

2.  I will bring proposals that will tie the stimulus which was given to the banks, to loan modifications for homeowners. We have seen stimulus money being funneled to foreign banks, or used to employ foreign citizens, which does not stimulate the U.S. economy. This needs to stop.  Stimulus paid with American taxpayer dollars needs to stimulate American economy and help American workers and American taxpayers.

3.  I will bring proposals of sanctions against China for currency manipulation, which results in loss of millions of American jobs and particularly jobs in CA. By assessing such sanctions, we will even the playing field and bring jobs to the U.S. and CA.

4.  I will bring forward legislative proposals for modification of WTO-GATT 1994 (World Trade Organization Global Agreement on Tariffs and Trade) agreements to account for wage manipulation. When wages are kept artificially low in Communist dictatorships like China, it creates an exodus of jobs in the US. By placing such provisions, we will bring jobs back to the U.S.

5.  We need to give tax credits for companies repatriating to the U.S.  When these companies hire unemployed American citizens, for every dollar paid in taxation by a newly hired American worker, we will give a dollar credit to the repatriating employer.

6.  We need to balance the budget and curb an unprecedented debt. Today, the U.S. spends more money on interest on debts than on national defense. This has to stop.

7.  In foreign policy, we need to support US allies. We need to stop nuclear proliferation, threatening U.S. national security.

8.  I will hold accountable employees of the U.S. Department of Justice, who were involved in "Fast and Furious" operations, where thousands of assault weapons were sold to drug cartels in Mexico. Such operations threaten lives of thousands of people in both U.S. and Mexico.

9.  I will launch investigations of the Department of Energy and other departments, which gave loans of hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars to crony campaign benefactors. We need to make sure that there are safeguards against scandals like Solyndra, where over 500 million taxpayer dollars were given to a company going bankrupt and the loan was modified to put U.S. taxpayer interests behind the interests of the political benefactors.

10.  I will fight to clean up massive election fraud, which leads to the same corrupt politicians being pronounced winners of elections, while our ballots are counted by a foreign corporation, while the electronic voting machines and electronic ballot counting scanners are easily rigged and while our Secretary of State Debra Bowen is intentionally refusing to verify identification and eligibility of voters and candidates. In this environment, we cannot trust any of the election results.

11. I will fight for whistleblowers who are being persecuted today by the establishment for blowing the whistle on corrupt governmental officials, a corrupt president, corrupt congressmen and judges.

12. I will launch an investigation of Barack Obama for occupying the White House, while using a fraudulently obtained Connecticut Social Security number, which was never assigned to him, according to E-Verify and SSNVS and for using a computer-generated forgery (according to experts)  instead of a valid long form birth certificate.  I will demand investigation and prosecution of governmental officials who are aiding and abetting Barack Obama in his illegal occupation of the position of the U.S. President without any valid identification papers.

Fellow Conservatives:

You may remember the slogan "It's the economy, stupid" used by Bill Clinton during the 1992 presidential campaign to make the point that George H. W. Bush had not adequately addressed the poor economy.

Clinton's political strategist, James Carville, posted the phrase inside campaign headquarters as a way to keep the team focused and on message. The phrase later became the de facto slogan for the Clinton election campaign.

The slogan could make a comeback in 2012 as Republicans highlight Barack Obama's dismal economic record, but if you consider yourself a freedom-loving American, then I have a different slogan for you.

"It's the Senate, stupid."

Not only do the Democrats currently control the Senate, but the rules make the Senate extremely powerful.

Most Americans are focused on the presidential race right now, especially as the GOP nomination process is about to shift into high gear. But winning the White House — as critical as it is — won't be enough to save the country we love without a strong, conservative majority in the United States Senate.

  • Without a conservative Senate, we won't repeal Obamacare.
  • Without a conservative Senate, we won't balance the budget.
  • Without a conservative Senate, we won't secure our borders.
  • Without a conservative Senate, we won't stop the bailouts.
  • And without a conservative Senate, we won't enact the pro-growth policies needed to get America back to work.

Elect True Conservatives to the Senate

If you're reading this letter, chances are, you follow current events more than most and you probably understand the point I'm making — winning the Senate is the key to restoring America's greatness.

Not only do the Democrats currently control the Senate but the rules of the Senate make it extremely powerful. If conservatives control the Senate, we can stop bad bills from passing and we can pass the reforms need to undo Obama's mess.

The simple fact of the matter is this: a good president without a conservative Senate is a waste of a good president.

A president can campaign on great policies, but he doesn't write the bills. As long as liberals are in charge of writing legislation, it will be difficult for a Republican president to sign the right bills into law. Does anyone think Harry Reid will ever send a bill to the President's desk to repeal ObamaCare? The answer is no and that's why I am entirely focused on packing the Senate with strong conservatives who will one day make that a reality.

There are 23 Democrat Senate seats up this cycle, and Republicans stand a strong chance of taking the Senate back. But it's not enough to just have a majority. We must have new senators who deeply believe in the principles of freedom and are willing to fight for them each day.

Elect True Conservatives to the Senate

As we head into the most important election year in our lifetimes, my challenge is to you is to keep your focus on winning a conservative majority in the U.S. Senate. These races and the candidates running in them aren't getting the same media attention as the presidential candidate, but they're no less important.

That is why I founded and chair the Senate Conservatives Fund, a political action committee that helps elect rock-solid conservative leaders to the U.S. Senate.

We have endorsed the following four standout leaders for the 2012 elections: Josh Mandel in Ohio, Ted Cruz in Texas, Don Stenberg in Nebraska, and Mark Neumann in Wisconsin.

These candidates share a strong belief in the principles of freedom that make America great and they understand the critical role the U.S. Constitution plays in preserving those principles.

These leaders also have records that prove they not only talk the talk but also walk the walk. And each of them has shown the courage to stand up to their own party's leaders when it was necessary to support and defend our principles and values.

So if you agree that winning a conservative majority in the U.S. Senate is vital to our nation's future and if you're willing to engage in these races even at a time when the media ignores them, then please do three things today.

  • First, visit and sign up for our email updates so you're informed.
  • Second, make a contribution either to SCF or directly to one or more of our candidates. Without financial support, these candidates won't be able to get their message out and win.
  • Third, forward this email to your family and friends. As politely as you can, tell them "It's the Senate, stupid" and encourage them to join our effort to take America back.

Thank you for your commitment to principles of freedom. We live the greatest country in the world and if we work together in smart and effective ways, I'm confident we can preserve it for generations to come.

                        CCIR Proudly Presents.....

Two Senatorial Candidates Robert Lauten and Orly Taitz

Robert Lauten, a committed American activist who is not a "Party" animal, but a "Patriot" animal who works tirelessly on issues and/or on behalf of candidates who uphold our Constitutional rights.

He was a registered Republican for most of his 66 years, in the early 1990's (in order to learn more about the Democratic Party), he served one year as a member of the Democratic Central Commitee. He left in disgust and registered with the American Independent Party (AIP).

In an effort to get GOP Rep. David Dreier to enforce our Immigration laws, he worked on Dem. Cynthia Matthew's "Fire Dreier" campaign (spearheaded by KFI John & Ken show).

Although she did not win, Dreier "got the message" and now supports more immigration laws.

In 2008, he was the only AIP candidate in CA running for Congress. In 2010, he was the AIP candidate for CA State Treasurer. In 2011, he re-registered Republican and is now running for the U.S. Senate as the only candidate to reinstate the Glass-Steagall Act (H.R. 1489) which would have prevented the "housing collapse" nationwide and will protect homeowners in the future from this disaster recurring, their homes foreclosed, and many now homeless. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Orly Taitz, a dedicated American patriot, born and raised in the Communist Soviet Union, is a candidate who knows first hand the bleakness of the totalitarian regime and deprivation that we would experience should we lose our Constitutional rights.

She holds two doctorate degrees - Doctor of Dental Surgery and Doctor of Jurisprudence - and she is president of Defend Our Freedoms Foundation and editor of her own blog,, where she writes prolifically on the issues of Constitutional law, politics, economy, and Constitutional education of our youth.

When Mr. Obama became the U.S. President, she became deeply concerned by the fact that he refused to present any of his original vital records (including proof he was a natural born U.S. citizen - as required by our Constitution), his use of social security numbers of deceased individuals, etc.

She embarked on a pro bono (her personal expense) mission to bring this to light and have it heard on its merits. [Re the recent hearing on this issue, the Judge's ruling will be discussed at the meeting].

Mark your calendar, plan to attend this exciting meeting! Meet and greet not only one, but two courageous candidates challenging the anti-American "bought & paid for" U.S. Senator DIANE FEINSTEIN ....

Only in America could liberals talk about the greed of the rich at a $35,000 a plate campaign fund raising event.

We need to demythologize guns before the liberal attempt to create a totemic fear of them succeeds. If the gun control mentality promoting fear of guns themselves becomes our national mentality, we would turn the clock back to the days when a warrior class ruled over the people because only they had the confidence and expertise to deploy the means of defense and coercion. The gun control agenda will turn us into a people too timid to defend themselves from our would-be masters. – Alan Keyes

How can we stand up to someone that creates a 100 dollar Federal Reserve (FR) note for 2 cents and uses the face value of the note of 100 dollars to buy a 100 dollar U.S. Security where the government has to pay them 4% in interest at the end of the year?
