Will YOU Save Freedom? Catch The Tea Party Wave

"The penalty for not participating in politics is to be governed by your inferiors." - Plato

The Presidency is the big political prize. With the worst "president" ever as the incumbent, who is already campaigning, you would think he is in deep trouble, but he could actually win, especially if the GOP fumbles-- and they did.

Looks like we have Barack Hussein Obama-Soetoro-Soebarkah-Bounel back and he will be much worse the second time around, full of himself, arrogant, spoiling for revenge, no more elections, "flexibility" for Vladmir, making energy prices "skyrocket," increasing Socialism, deploying Czars, borrowing, spending, QE, taxes,Supreme Court "Justices," especially if the Senate rolls over like last term.

For all practical purposes, we are down to only two viable candidates, AKA Obama and Romney. The battle is on.

Mitt Romney, Nominated by GOP 8-28-12

Mitt Picks Paul Ryan for VP

Gary Johnson, Libertarian Nominee

Ed Noonan, CA AIP Nominee

A stacked AIP convention ignored the will of the voters and picked Tom Hoefling as its nominee. Why should they be any different from the Republicrats?

- Mitt Romney- W- Bright, highly successful businessman/consultant, Romneycare issue, baggage, flip-flopped on choice, cap/trade, amnesty, now denying "warming," or is he? Opposes SB1070, RINO. Polling well. Choice of GOP hierarchy. Possible eligibility questions. Won NH, 2nd in SC. Won FL big.  CA Nominee and national nominee as of 8-28-12- Congrats!

- Gary Johnson- W- Former successful businessman (construction), 2-time former New Mexico Governor, anti-tax, anti-bureaucracy, Libertarian, pro-choice, more, more, more. Barred from debates. Left GOP to run as Libertarian. CA Nominee and national nominee- Congrats!

- Ed Noonan-W- American Independent Party. Constitutional Conservative. Challenges Obama's eligibility. Shares some of Ron Paul's monetary policy views, but more Conservative overall.  CA AIP Nominee- Congrats!

- Laurie Roth-W- American Independent Party- Singer, songwriter, talk show hostess (IRN-USA), actively challenges Obama's eligibility, work to make America energy independent, stop drug trade, go to only 2% consumption tax.

- John Dummett- W- CA govt. programmer, doesn't seem to have many qualifications, except common sense and intelligence, which I suppose puts him ahead of the incumbent, whose eligibility he actively  challenges, along with the 16th Amendment.

As far as I know, this only includes Republican and Democrat nominees.- G.M.

So, we're down to Romney. John Dummett is still running, but the big parties and media will make sure you don't hear much about him.  The third party candidates lack money, support and publicity to do much. Cody Robert Judy is the only opposition Democrat running with any visibility at all, but not TV or debates. Instead, he is more in the courts, suing Obama over his ineligibility to run, as are candidates such as Ed Noonan (AIP), Laurie Roth (I).  Republicans are eerily silent about that 300 lb. gorilla. even with very strong evidence to back it up. Unfortunately, millions are expected not to vote over their dissatisfaction with Progressive Republican nominee Romney. We caution you about that. PLEASE consider the alternative.  Are you willing to put an ineligible incumbent back in office to make your point?

Well George, I'm on the Cain bandwagon with you.  I like the guy.

Here is how my dilemma with the drug issue got resolved; most conservatives realize the Constitution gives the government NO right to demand we pollute our bodies with specific drugs, chemicals, vaccines, etc.  I will, for the sake of my point, assume you feel this way as well.  So, how can a government that has no authority to to force people to ingest something, then claim to have the right to forbid the ingestion of anything else?  Either the government can control what we ingest or it cannot.  It makes no constitutional sense to have it one way but not the other.  The Constitution is really about only one thing; and that is property ownership.  And in the eyes of the Fopunders, a person's body is their property.

Having the government totally follow the Constitution does not mean there will not be problems and dilemmas, it just means those problems and dilemmas will be different and easier to overcome.  As Thomas jefferson stated, "I would rather have the problems resulting from too little government than those attendant with too much of it".

I agree with Dick Morris on the Herman Cain issue:

I learned something important from my polling in the Lewinsky scandal.  While the political world and the media were focused on the narrow question of who was right, Clinton or Special Prosecutor Kenneth Starr, most voters opted for a third choice:  "We don't care.  We don't want to hear more about this.  This is no way to run a government or choose a president."  Some resented the public discussion of oral sex, noting that their children were watching.  They didn't want to hear it.

So it is with the accusations against Herman Cain.  We are mired in the worst economic condition in eighty years and will not tolerate more talk about who invited whom up to their room and for what.  We don't care.  We don't want to know.  We want you to go away and let us choose a president based on the serious and grave issues we are trying to consider.  We think the media is a distraction and we want it to stop its drumbeat coverage.  Pro-Cain or anti-Cain is irrelevant.  We want the issue to go away!

This third dimension of public reaction was evident when the CNBC reporters in last night's debate tried to ask Cain about the accusations.  The crowd would have none of it. When the reporters tried to couch the questions as relating to managerial ability or the character required of a CEO, they still hooted down the question.  In that moment, I realized that Cain would survive for the same reason Clinton made it - we have more important things to worry about.

The media does not admit of this third dimension.  Its mavens and executives give themselves the job of deciding what is news.  They present the news.  We render our verdict on it.  That's how its supposed to work.  But when the news media goes crazy covering something we don't care about, we make our voices heard.  And that's what the audience did last night.

In the meantime, Cain was his usual charismatic, brilliant debater articulating his 9-9-9 proposal better than he ever has and demonstrating its centrality to solving our economic problems.  The contrast between the statesmanship and breadth of his remedy and the tawdriness of the charges and counter-charges was evident.

In case the media didn't get the message, it is this:  WE DON'T WANT TO HEAR, READ, OR SEE MORE ABOUT THIS STUPID STORY -- GO AWAY!

Bobby: actually, I have reservations about Cain, due to his policies on Federal Reserve, taxes and big govt. He is somewhat better than Romney, Huntsman, Perry, Gingrich, however.  At this point, the candidates I like best aren't doing well (not that any of them are satisfactiory) and it will be another lesser of two evils situation-ugh.

As far as ingesting. I don't think drug taking should be a criminal offense, but those who cause harm should be severely punished and that we can't ignore the huge plague the harder drugs have visited upon our society. The human/economic costs are enormous and merely legalizing everything might actually make it worse. Think it through.   What about our Constitutional rights NOT to be harmed by the purveyors and consumers of drugs- life , liberty anfd the pusuit of happiness? I've already been harmed, as have many others. What is your solution?

George, you are so fearful! Yes, there a lot of boogie men out there, lots of bad, ignorant, irresponsible, careless people out there.  It's up to you to protect yourself and your family. The government can't and won't do it for you. No law will protect you from outlaws. That is why we have firearms. Choose your friends wisely and you can avoid some of it.....I am sorry if it sounds like I am preaching to you. I am just trying to give you some common sense advice. Take it or leave it. You will never make your own fear disappear by trying to control everything and everyone outside yourself. The only one you have control over is you.

Well said on the drug issue, Bobby. It all comes down to personal responsibility. There is no big daddy out there that can protect you from all harm. Sorry, there is no Santa Claus. It is wishful thinking that laws protect us from outlaws. Government does a lousy job at it. That is why we have the right to protect ourselves and property with arms! The supreme court has ruled that we have no reasonable expectation of protection by our police. They basically are there to bring perpetrators to justice and it is up to lawful citizens to protect themselves!!! Even with all the laws and prohibitions, outlaws don't follow laws. Parents have to be responsible and protect and monitor their children! All this crying and moaning about how unfair, unsafe and awful things are is a waste of time. Grow up and take responsibility for you and your families welfare. Protect yourself! No one else is going to.

C Powers, so, it's up to me to protect myself and my family? That would be fine, except my ablility to protect myself and/or loved ones has been infringed by our federal and state governments. I am only allowed to protect myself in my own home, from someone who has actually broken into my home. That only takes care of about 12 hours of my 24 hour day. What about the rest of the time?

If I'm in my car, any firearm would have to be out of reach, unloaded and locked up. So how is this helpful if I'm threatened in some way?

If I'm walking on a city sidewalk, exactly how is this 67-year-old widow supposed to protect herself from a thief and/or assailant? Situational awareness is a start. What then? What's the use of having a firearm at home if I can only keep it and not bear it?

And don't call me fearful. I do not let unconstitutional laws keep me from living my life. However, I'm extremely annoyed at having my God-given right to self-protection increasingly infringed by people who can afford gated communities and personal bodyguards.

NRA board member Ted Nugent has it right:

Miz Powers: So, we’re gonna deal with the drug epidemic with “firearms?  :-)  I wonder how much you "ingested" before writing your rants.  If I'm "fearful," then you are naive. If you knew even the slightest thing about me, you would know I am hardly one to go about cringing in fear. I deal with problems. In any case, I have said multiple times that I don’t think drug use should be a criminal offense. What part of that DON’T you understand?

The government has systematically removed much of our ability to defend ourselves, not that the average person can stop the drug-related onslaught alone.  For example, try applying for a carry permit some time.  Go ahead and try carrying illegally. I have had my car searched multiple times by law enforcement, which I believe is unconstitutional. The Supreme Court disagrees. Imagine my problems if they had found “firearms” in my car or on my person. I work to help protect Second Amendment freedoms. What do you do?

While you're holed up in your bunker (since you're not allowed to legally carry when you're out), with your "firearms," some of us will be trying to counter the drug epidemic, via multiple means, as opposed to immediately removing all constraints without first mitigating some of the underlying causes.

You seem unaware of the extent of the drug plague and its impact on our society.  I’m not sure how you got the impression that I think the police will prevent harm to me and my family. The Thin Blue Line cannot do that in a vacuum. It takes more of a comprehensive macro effort to do so. I previously attributed the drug epidemic to loose morals, supply and excessive funds to purchase it. All of those factors contribute much more to the problem than when there were fewer restrictions over a century ago.  In addition, some feel that our enemies are deliberately facilitating an environment to make it worse.  That would be an act of war.

The so-called war on drugs hasn’t been that successful, because it is focused on supply. However, demand will almost always help create supply. The demand results from an increasing wealth to buy it, a moral climate that is conducive to its use, even glorification. “Just say no to drugs” TV ads have not worked. As long as Hollywood, celebrity figures and other public figures signal that drugs are “cool,” as long as society doesn’t actively discourage it, as long as there are funds to purchase them, as long as human nature stays the same, drugs will be a big problem.  In the meantime, keeping criminals in prison is in fact correlated with much lower violent crime in the USA.  Yes, violent crime has dropped considerably in the USA, even adjusted for changed demographics.  I don’t think that simply using drugs should be a criminal offense, although abuse should be treated similar to alcohol. However, any violent or criminal behavior by users, purveyors or facilitators- especially to minors  and those known to have drug problems-  should be very harshly punished.  I don’t even believe that prisons are a good long term solution to the problem. But it appears that they are helping for now, even as they create other problems.

Please tell me how I would have avoided the specific harm I described previously, if you even read it. The problems I personally experienced were not caused by my friends.  I did in fact defend myself in the NY assault, although not with a gun.  Would "firearms" have prevented a drug-addled fool from ramming my car? Would firearms have avoided a theft I wasn't there to witness? Would firearms had prevented my insurance and tax costs from rising due to the drug epidemic?  I have taken steps to protect myself and family, within the law. I'm sorry if you think I don't have any common sense. Sensible people who know me will tell you differently. There's quite a gap between your rather overblown keyboard rhetoric and reality.   You really have very little idea of what you are talking about.

I noticed you never really responded to my question: "what is your solution?" If you think what you wrote is, you are sadly mistaken.

I carry mace. Sounds like you are taking reasonable precautions for safety. You don't sound fearful, you sound realistic. Maybe you could do more but hey, we have to vote and promote for those folks who uphold our rights to keep and bear arms. We can no longer afford to trust that our leaders have our best interests at heart. It was very naive. But I think you missed my point and that is you can not teach people to be irresponsible, lawless and Godless and then expect them to follow the laws. We could pass laws till the cows come home and it will never, never work if we have a lawless population. So until, we change that dynamic and go back to what works, self responsibility...

It looks like what we have is Newt and Herman.  I'm beginning to think that this will be the Republican ticket.

Newt admitted that sitting on a couch with Pelosi was the dumbest thing he’s done in the last few years. The problem it’s caused him is that people think he’s now for Cap and Trade which he says is absolutely not true. It still was really dumb.

He did a lot more dumb stuff than that. I wish he would use his intelligence smarter.

George,

You have not offered any solutions yourself. My point is that what we are doing is not working. We need to change what we are doing...if it does not work, it is not right. We don't do more of what does not work! Our only solution is to elect like minded people and protect yourself the best you can. Take self-defense, buy insurance if you can, make your castle safe, etc. Life is messy and we can not be protected against accidents or bad luck. People make bad choices and mistakes because they are ignorant of the real consequences of their behavior and we are all sometimes weak and flawed. I know I am. How about you?

We are members of NRA and support candidates who support our right to defend ourselves. My point is that if you have done all you reasonably can do, what else can you do? Passing more laws that restrict our freedom adds insult to injury. If you decriminalize, you take the monetary incentive for organized crime out of the equation at least. Look at the example of prohibition.

You change behavior by education but we don't have that any more in the is country. The DOE follows the dictates of the UN and we have generations of children indoctrinated into socialism and that IS deliberate. The moral decay is deliberate and it comes on both the left and the right.

I read a quote yesterday that seems appropriate here

"Socialism needs two legs on which to stand; a right and a left. While appearing to be in complete opposition to one another, they both march in the same direction." - Paul Proctor

As long as we continue to buy into the false right left paradigm, we will fail in our objective. We continue to do the same thing over and over expecting a different result, much like Charlie Brown and the football.

I would like to recommend a book "In The Presence of Our Enemies by Ellen McClay who was a member of the Minute Women who fought the UN infiltration of the public school system in Los Angeles. A very interesting read.

I really don't believe we are so far apart on issues as you might think. We probably might disagree on some of the solutions but those are small potatoes considering the gigantic issues before us.

I am sorry if you take offense with my words and beliefs. But sometimes we focus too much on the negative. Sometimes I find when I get overwhelmed with the mountain before us, I take time out to remember what I love about being alive, as simple as the smell of the air after a good rain or cinnamon buns cooking in the oven. The list is endless actually once you get started! It helps me take a breather from the weight of the world and lightens the load.

I do not take excretion with your stern words. I did not mean that you personally have no common sense and I am sorry if you think that because I don't. I tend to think and speak generally which can obviously get misconstrued.

At least I know you are passionate and that means you care. I, for one am extremely thankful that for the FIRST time in my voting life, I have a candidate to vote for and support 100% who I truly admire and respect, whose whole career has been based on principle and not popularity...that's integrity. Something I value and I find extremely rare in this world. To me that is a miracle and I am glad I have the opportunity to experience it! For that I am grateful.

General question. Has anyone heard anything about the 11-11-11 Veterans march on Washington DC? They turned the Capital cameras off yesterday and I can not find any info on it from any source.

I agree about Cain's power.

However the destruction of Obama cannot take place before he is nominated. If Obama is not the nominee of the Dems then it would be wide open for Hillary and polls indicate she would win the presidency. Shudder!

This country does not need to have a conversation about how many bullets should go in a clip. It does need to have a conversation about how many parents should go in a family. It needs to talk about the ghettos of Obamerica and have a serious conversation about broken families and generational dependency. It needs to have a conversation about funneling new immigrants from broken parts of the world into areas already suffering from high levels of unemployment and street violence.- Daniel Greenfield

“Disarmament of the populace is always the first step to depriving them of their civil rights and human rights…many African-Americans and women are actively assaulting the very document that first secured their own freedom... if you do not believe in the Bill of Rights, then you are not, at heart, an American.” – Mike Adams

Only in America could liberals talk about the greed of the rich at a $35,000 a plate campaign fund raising event.

We need to demythologize guns before the liberal attempt to create a totemic fear of them succeeds. If the gun control mentality promoting fear of guns themselves becomes our national mentality, we would turn the clock back to the days when a warrior class ruled over the people because only they had the confidence and expertise to deploy the means of defense and coercion. The gun control agenda will turn us into a people too timid to defend themselves from our would-be masters. – Alan Keyes

So now that there is a new tragedy the president wants to have a “national conversation on guns”. Here’s the thing. Until this national conversation is willing to entertain allowing teachers to carry concealed weapons, then it isn’t a conversation at all, it is a lecture. – Larry Correia'

How can we stand up to someone that creates a 100 dollar Federal Reserve (FR) note for 2 cents and uses the face value of the note of 100 dollars to buy a 100 dollar U.S. Security where the government has to pay them 4% in interest at the end of the year? A yearly cost of 4 FR notes where it only cost the FR 2 cents to print.

“Capital must protect itself in every possible way, both by combination and legislation. Debts must be collected, mortgages foreclosed as rapidly as possible. When, through the process of law, the common people lose their homes, they will become more docile and more easily governed through the strong arm of government applied by a central power of wealth under leading financiers. These truths are well known among our principal men who are now engaged in forming an imperialism to govern the world. By dividing the voter through the political party system, we can get them to expend their energies in fighting for questions of no importance. It is thus by discreet action we can secure for ourselves that which has been so well planned and so successfully accomplished.”
- President American Bankers Association, 1924

Nonetheless, in a land where every mewling babe in the American nursery is born with a debt burden of just under $200,000, the president brags that only his party is 'compassionate' to have no plan whatsoever even to attempt to do anything about this, no way, no how, not now, not ever." --columnist Mark Steyn

Isn't it amazing how every facet of Sergeant Bales life,  high school, college, employment, why he left his employment, his brother’s employment, his wife’s employment, real estate holdings, a missed house payment , a missed promotion etc., is exposed within a week and the same fact finders can't find comparable info on the most powerful man in the world in three plus years ?

You go into a government agency: 'Get to the back of the queue and wait until you are called!”'

-       Alistair Mcleod
