Prop 23-- Suspend Ab 32!

HI All,

This is information I have received from the California Job Initiative, Prop 23. This will be on the November ballot to Suspend environmental regulations until California's businesses get back on their feet. You can read more and get specific information by going to the website link, Suspendab32.org. Please but this on your website or pass on to those on your email list. We are actually revising the website this weekend, so lots of new things are already up. There are some new banners you can put on your site to link to us and in answer to your question there are two fact sheets we have up, one on why we want to suspend ab 32 and another on CARB. In the couple of weeks ahead, we will probably add a few more facts to the first one and also add one on the green jobs myth - did you know that the 1000 green jobs at Tesla that Obama and Arnold keep promoting were subsidized by taxpayers at $500,000 each? I'm working on a fact sheet with that and some of the European green jobs debacles.

Imagine a State Controller who actually audited every agency of California government?

How about a State Controller that could use a computer system, that when we run out of money, and need to furlough employees, we could?

Why not a State Controller that tells the legislature, "NO IOU's, pass a budget or we close down shop?"'

California Republican Party Vice Chair Tom Del Beccaro states the problem clearly, "In recent weeks, in California alone, we have heard the stories of Bell, California where that small town was paying a city manager nearly twice what the President makes. Less publicized are the stories about how California schools are paying as much as $125 million, each year, too much for roof repairs and how John Chiangs Controllers office has spent over $70 million dollars and literally can’t update the States antiquated payroll system."

Our current Democrat State Controller has had four years and $70 million, and still hasn't computer problem. I bet that if there was a raise in pay for State employees, it could be accomplished overnight, don't you?

Is there an answer? "All of which brings us to Tony Strickland. He may well be the ideal candidate to start this Republican Controllers tide. As an Assembly member, he stood alone and sued then Governor Gray Davis because Davis refused to disclose the details of the awful energy deals he signed. Those terrible deals were costing Californians billions and until Strickland stood alone Davis was getting away with it. Strickland won his lawsuit, forced disclosure of contracts, and with that you can trace not only the end of those rip-off Enron energy contracts but also the end of Gray Davis political career. California desperately needs a Controller like that today as opposed to John Chiang who is resisting government reform at every turn."

I am now a "greenie". By that I mean we need to recycle Sacramento--do you agree?

Hi California iCaucus Members, (re: iCaucus endorsed candidates) We are less than 90 days away from the General Election, we have 22 candidates throughout California who have received your endorsement and who made it through the primary.

These candidates are no longer pending: Rick Tubbs - endorsed, Daniel Sahagun - endorsed, David Benning - did not win his primary. Brian Hendry's endorsement is still pending. We have set up the ning with forums for each of these candidates, this is the place to post events to attend, action that is needed by you and opposition research. The State Leaders have sent out requests for you to help, they are working hard to find one of our members in each district for these candidates to be the Liaison (main contact between iCaucus and these candidates so we can coordinate our efforts.) As a member of our organization, you have made a committment to activiely participate. Unlike many other groups our goal and mission is to participate to get involved with our election process, to have your voice heard in our vetting and endorsements, and to actively campaign for our endorsed candidates. Our leadership is often asked, "What can I do", well for starters you can make a committement of 5 hours a week, to recruit, to attend events, to research, and to organize. How are you suppose to change the direction of our State and our Nation, if you sit back and watch! We will be saying good-bye to the ning and other forums out there and incompassing everything we do in a one stop website, the new registration announcement will be starting soon. We are addressing issues that arose during our primary. As most of you know, our endorsement for Governor created quite a stir, most of excitement, but some which questioned our process and actually the leadership of the endorsement. Let me first say that the process for this endorsement followed all of the iCaucus policies. The only irregularity was the length of the conference period, which came about due to the fact that many of our members and leadership did not know either of the candidates that went through our process. I would also like to state that both of the "front runners" were invited to participate on 4 occasions and both refused. The District Leaders and State Directors decided to put both candidates in front of our members and our communities prior to the vote. We held forums and posted them over a one month period of time. All on the ning site, then put the candidates out for a vote. Our voting system does not allow for multiple votes or stacking the deck as has been accused. Each member registers with their email which has an IP address listed, we track this information and allow only one vote. Even with multiple email addresses the IP tracking only allows one vote. The vote was made by iCaucus members throughout the entire State not one area over another. The members decided who to endorse! Our process is thorough and YOU make the decision. If you chose not to participate, then you should not complain. If you joined to get a candidate endorsed and they didn't, then you joined for the wrong reason. If you understand the process then you support the candidate endorsed by your fellow members. The fighting that went on here in CA isn't unique, splitting the vote by multiple grassroots candidates has happened in every State. We are new to this process and we are learning that only united with other like-minded grassroots organization can we effect change. We are the only organization bringing citizen's into the process and thoroughly vetting candidates on principles with a process that has been reviewed and endorsed by Dr. Bob Basso (Thomas Paine) and many other organization throughout our nation. Are we learning as we go? YES! We find areas that need more structure, more detail and more oversite. We are addressing these constantly and with that our policy and procedures manual is in revision now. We have established policies in place for 2010, but we are looking at all of the issues that need to be addressed and revising for 2012. In January we will be presenting the policies for revision to our delegate members for your input and review. COMING UP The March on DC. Last year on September 12th we saw the largest gathering of Constitutional Conservative converge on Washington DC, we expect the same if not more this year. iCaucus has been invited to have an iCaucus endorsed Candidates Convention as part of this event. Frank Anderson will be a speaker at a symposium on September 9th (the first day of the four day event), our Convention will be held on the 10th, and at the memorial service on the 11th, National Director Colleen Gray will be singing her original song titled "Say a Prayer" National Director Stephanie Jahn (me) will be addressing the crowd at the Rally later that afternoon. Our Candidates will be featured in a "2010 iCaucus endorsed Candidates Guide" which will be unveiled at this event. YOUR INVOLVEMENT AND ACTION IS NEEDED! This one in particular, since it is the one that prevents the dreaded 2/3 spenders' majority. Would you care to ask if I was referring to "D's" or "R's?"

As bad as the Republicans are, they have done a better job holding down spending in Sacramento.

Our own local boy Chris Collier and others played an important role in that campaign, pouring some VC resources into the race.

Committee rather than by politicians.

NO Prop. 21 The proposition would impose an annual $18 vehicle license surcharge for state parks and wildlife.
