After playing kissy-kissy with Harry Reid and selling the First Amendment down the river (Disclose Act), look what the NRA is now doing: Michigan’s District 1 SEIU candidate in the Republican primary is proud to announce that the NRA has endorsed him in that primary against Tea Party candidate and physician, Doctor Dan Benishek.

The NRA has NOT endorsed Harry Reid in Nevada. This "rumour" was actually started on moveon.org and Huffington Post and then NOT checked for credibility by Redstate. Here is the ACTUAL press release by NRA-ILA.

Alleges AB962 Pre-empted by Federal Laws that Regulate Interstate Shipping
The National Rifle Association (NRA) today joined the Calguns Foundation, the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association (the largest trucker’s trade association), the Folsom Shooting Club, and two individual truckers in a lawsuit challenging California’s soon-to-be-implemented law banning most shipments of handgun ammunition into California. The case is OOIDA v. Lindley. A copy of the Complaint is available at www.calgunlaws.com.
Assembly Bill 962 was signed into law last year. Starting in February 2011, the law will criminalize the delivery and transfer of handgun ammunition not done in face-to-face transactions. The law provides only a few exceptions to this shipping ban, and requires shipping companies to bear the burden of determining whether the recipient of a package containing handgun ammunition is covered by one of the exceptions before delivering the package. This will make shipping ammunition to California much more difficult, complicated, and expensive.
California firearm retailers, ranges, clubs, and owners, as well as hunters, depend on the efficient and inexpensive movement of ammunition by carrier into California. In February 2008, a unanimous United States Supreme Court struck down Maine’s directly analogous law regarding the delivery of cigarettes to Maine in Rowe v. New Hampshire Motor Transport. Rowe made clear that a state cannot interfere with a carrier’s rates, routes, or services, because Congress made an important decision to protect common carriers from a patchwork of state and local regulations burdening interstate commerce when it enacted the Federal Aviation Administration Authorization Act (FAAAA). The FAAAA specifically prohibits state and local governments from interfering with common carriers’ rates, routes, or services.
AB 962 is a blatent violation of the Commerce Clause of the Constitution.
This is the lawsuit that I am involved with and will be entering an Amicus curiae petition to.

This has also been ruled on by the SCOTUS in Granholm V Heald and Swedenberg V Kelly, both out of Michigan saying that the states have no authority to regulate interstate commerce and that the Commerce clause of the Constitution authorizes the Federal Government to make interstate commerce "regular".

Article 1, Section 9, clauses 5 and 6;
No tax or duty shall be laid on articles exported from any state.
No preference shall be given by any regulation of commerce or revenue to the ports of one state over those of another: nor shall vessels bound to, or from, one state, be obliged to enter, clear or pay duties in another.
Article 1, Section 10, clause 2;
No state shall, without the consent of the Congress, lay any imposts or duties on imports or exports, except what may be absolutely necessary for executing it's inspection laws: and the net produce of all duties and imposts, laid by any state on imports or exports, shall be for the use of the treasury of the United States; and all such laws shall be subject to the revision and control of the Congress.
Article 1, Section 8, clause 3;
(The Congress shall have power)...To regulate commerce with foreign nations, and among the several states, and with the Indian tribes;
INTERSTATE Commerce is one of the 17 enumerated powers granted to congress and the that CANNOT ban, regulate nor tax interstate commerce.

That is what makes an "internet tax" so treacherous. All the rights and liberties get taken away gradually. As soo as we "give in" once because something "sounds reasonable" it set a precedent that forever after will be used against us to take more liberty. Always Always Always. How is it that they can restrict religion in public in violation of the Constitution? Because they decided that Allowing something is the same as enforcing it. How can we have a separation of church and state, and how can congress "make no law establishing religion" when our very income tax code ESTABLISHES and decides what a religion is?!
