This is a big upcoming weekend for campaigning. Most of the campaigns will be calling, precinct walking and fund-raising. Since the sample ballots are now out and absentee ballots will be going shortly, things are reaching a fever pitch.
I know that many people have competing events for their time, but please consider what is at stake here and try to help with some critical races and Propositions that could help make things better, or at least keep them from getting worse as fast.
With so many savvy voters (and some not so savvy) now voting absentee, the time line for campaigning has shifted earlier.
This would be a real good time for you to help with donations, calling, networking, calling, blogging, letters to the editor writing and campaign volunteering.
These Tea Party agenda supporting candidates have asked us for help:
- Tom Watson- 23 Dist Congress www.watson4congress.com * Critical, with best chance to flip this seat from D- Capps.
- Mike Stoker- 35 Dist State Assy www.stoker4assembly.com
- Terry Rathbun- 41 Dist State Assy. www.rathbunforassembly.com
- Jeff Gorell-37 Dist. State Assy. www.jeffgorell.org
The Republican Party also needs volunteers to help with the general ballot- calling and walking.
You can contribute to the Jim DeMint Senate Conservatives Fund.
We also support people like Elton Galleghly, Tony Strickland, Steve Hinz (Treasurer/Tax Collector) www.stevenhinzfortreasurer.com , Cameron Smyth www.votesmyth.com and a host of local offices. More on that later.
The committee thought that we would be at least somewhat better off with Steve Cooley for Attorney General, Mike Villenes for Insurance Commisioner, George Runner for Board of Equalization and Mimi Walters for Treasurer, Carly Fiorina for U.S. Senate, than their Democrat opponents.
It is vitally important that we hold the Dem State Assembly Senate majority down to avoid a 2/3 majority for budget approvals. We must also block Prop. 25, which would eliminate the 2/3 barrier! You may want to support other state legislative races to help accomplish that goal. Passing 26 to impose a 2/3 requirement for levies and charges would be very good.
See recommendations (please send us more, especially local races!):
