Lt. Todd Spitler’s interests in politics, government and law are reflected in the degrees he has earned:
· BA, Political Science, Providence College, RI
· MA, Government, John Hopkins, MD
· JD, Law, University of the Pacific, Sacramento.
After completing his education, Todd was commissioned in the Navy in 2002. He served as a Public Affairs Officer in Southeast Asia, Hawaii, Alaska, and most recently in Iraq. His security clearance is above top-secret. Todd is a highly decorated officer. Among his many medals are:
· Iraq Campaign Medal - 2010
· Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (2) - 2004, 2006
· GWOT (Gulf War Over Terrorism) Service Medal - 2005
· Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal - 2004
Todd has just returned from a yearlong tour as Senior Press Desk Officer, Media Operations Center, U.S. Embassy, Baghdad, Iraq. Presently, Todd serves as Public Affairs Officer/Legislative Liaison for the United States of America Vietnam War Commemoration Commission. Todd will explain his duties as Senior Press Desk Officer at the Iraqi Embassy and observe the progress in Iraq since we invaded and knocked out Hussein in 2003.
