When "Sustainability" crosses your path, followed close behind will be a set of assumptions that are never substantiated.  These ass-sumpts pretend to make the author look as if they know something that will make our lives so much better. At the same time, we will be saving the environment in so many ways.  As one whos worked in environmental compliance for 30 years, they are simply restating what some politician has directed if they want to get the next state or federal grant.

Sustainability translates into, high density living, no family homes, one small car or bicycle is better, very little water use at the same time not allowing dams to capture fresh  water, if you have property it's shared and called the "commons" as found in the Forbidden City, your dog will be a hamster, and of course your paycheck will come from the state welfare rolls.  If you wonder why Home Depot has 50 handicap stalls but your favorite boulevard has one auto lane and two green bicycle lanes, it's high level academic thinking and called sustainability.  gh
