Words have meanings. The meanings of words can get perverted, distorted or bent into ideas not originally implied. Consider the word “conservative”. According to the American Heritage Dictionary it means; “Tending to favor the preservation of the existing order and to regard proposals for change with distrust.” Presumably, when it was first used politically in America it referred to preserving our republic (and Constitution) as they were founded. However, it specifically reads “existing order” not “original intent”. Does anyone see the strict dictionary definition practiced by the political parties that dominate our lives today? Sadly, yes. All political parties are obsessed with the continuance of the status quo and their hold on power over us. They prove this always.
Our national government, as it currently functions has become little more than a domestic enemy to liberty, property, and the rights of the American people. Would America and the world be better off without it? Possibly. Consider the Republicans running for nomination for president. All are flawed. As Will Rogers quipped, “Everybody wants to elect the best man for president. Unfortunately, he ain’t running.” And if he were, is there any doubt that the Democrat/Republican/Media Complex would destroy him? But I digress. I suggest that all candidates, of all parties are indeed, conservative. All are very interested and heavily invested in “Tending to favor the preservation of the existing order,” although some more than others. Who are the real enemies to America and thus, the world? Are the enemies the illegal aliens who colonize our nation and destroy our jobs and lives, or our government who gives them incentives to invade us? Is it the Muslims with all their oil or the bureaucrats who forbid energy production? Is it inflation and joblessness or the elected officials who cause both for their own gain? Today, conservatives pretend to sort themselves with the term “neocon” but the term actually means little more than a conservative that is even more liberal, (unconstitutional) than average Republicans.
I refuse to continue to be classified conservative since I most definitely do NOT “favor the preservation of the existing order.” My goal is to return America to the representative republic laid out in our Constitution, apparently unlike conservatives. In my estimation, that makes me a constitutionalist. Unfortunately for me, America, and millions of voters there is no Constitutionalist Party. Oh, there is a party that so refers to itself but is more interested in battling itself internally than it is in correcting any problems we face as a nation. (Sorry Larry, but it’s true.)
So, name your poison folks. Ask yourself these questions, “Exactly who or what has had the most negative impact on my life and that of my family. Is it really the Muslims, oil prices, illegal aliens, inflation, terrorists, gangsters, or is it the government that has used them all to tax and dominate us? Are things so great at the moment that we want to conserve them as they are, currently?” Not I.
Nothing in life remains static. We are always moving in some direction. Will we reverse course and move towards constitutional governance or conserve our path away from it? There are plenty of isms to keep us headed in the direction of the latter and obviously conservatism is among them. If one is in court, the judge and jury purport to be interested in only one question, “Was the law broken or not”. In the political arena we must only concern ourselves with the question, “Are they mostly upholding our Constitution or are they seeking our demise?” Those are the options before us today. Regarding Washington the answer is obvious, regarding the candidates, just as obvious.
Here in corrupt, communist California at least the most corrupt of the corrupt get prosecuted. Their counterparts in Washington get chairmanships, fat pensions, and call girls/boys. Unless we demand that our local authorities do their jobs to defend our liberty against ALL enemies both foreign and domestic, we will continue to lose our nation to Washington. No war was ever won by electing enemies to lead the faithful into battle. Make no mistake, the enemy is clear and conservative voters will continue to elect the enemy. Will you? Or can you graduate from conservative to constitutionalist?
