That is why Rob will make job creation and business development a top priority by cutting red tape and speeding the government permit and approval process in a responsible and efficient way. This will ensure that our city has the resources to provide essential city services that our people deserve.

To Rob McCoy, Thousand Oaks is America’s finest city. And he wants to keep it that way! Rob believes in managed growth and smart planning. It is time to end the conflicts between economic development and preserving our beautiful lands and precious natural resources.
Public Safety, Secure Community
In so many places, people are afraid to walk the streets of their neighborhood at night. Thousand Oaks is different, but we have to work hard to keep it that way. As a former Chaplain with the Ventura County Sheriff ’s Office, Rob understands the vital role law enforcement plays in our community. As your City Councilman, he will make certain that our public safety professionals have the resources they need to prevent crime and keep our community secure.
Rob McCoy was born in Coronado, California. The son of a Navy officer, he learned early on the values of service to his country and his community.
Rob is a graduate of Coronado High class of 1982 where he achieved All-American Honors for swimming and water polo. He then went on to graduate from California State University of Fresno with a BA in History. While attending Fresno State, he Finished 3rd in the United States Senior National Open Water Swimming Championships. He still holds all records for his events at Fresno State.
After university, Rob worked for a variety of different companies in a managerial capacity, including such notable companies as Helene Curtis and Unilever, where he held the position as Area Manager overseeing a region covering three states.
Rob is a leader in Thousand Oaks, having served on the boards of the Conejo Pregnancy Center and United in Purpose, as well as a National District Counselor to Alpha Gamma Omega fraternity. In addition, he has served as a chaplain in the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office.
In 2001, Rob was appointed Senior Pastor for Calvary Chapel in Thousand Oaks, where he continues to minister to this day. Rob lives in Newbury Park with Michelle, his wife of 24 years, and their 5 children.
