"The penalty for not participating in politics is to be governed by your inferiors." - Plato
The Presidency is the big political prize. With the worst "president" ever as the incumbent, who is already campaigning, you would think he is in deep trouble, but he could actually win, especially if the GOP fumbles-- and they did.
Looks like we have Barack Hussein Obama-Soetoro-Soebarkah-Bounel back and he will be much worse the second time around, full of himself, arrogant, spoiling for revenge, no more elections, "flexibility" for Vladmir, making energy prices "skyrocket," increasing Socialism, deploying Czars, borrowing, spending, QE, taxes,Supreme Court "Justices," especially if the Senate rolls over like last term.
For all practical purposes, we are down to only two viable candidates, AKA Obama and Romney. The battle is on.
Mitt Romney, Nominated by GOP 8-28-12
Mitt Picks Paul Ryan for VP
Gary Johnson, Libertarian Nominee
Ed Noonan, CA AIP Nominee
A stacked AIP convention ignored the will of the voters and picked Tom Hoefling as its nominee. Why should they be any different from the Republicrats?
- Mitt Romney- W- Bright, highly successful businessman/consultant, Romneycare issue, baggage, flip-flopped on choice, cap/trade, amnesty, now denying "warming," or is he? Opposes SB1070, RINO. Polling well. Choice of GOP hierarchy. Possible eligibility questions. Won NH, 2nd in SC. Won FL big. CA Nominee and national nominee as of 8-28-12- Congrats!
- Gary Johnson- W- Former successful businessman (construction), 2-time former New Mexico Governor, anti-tax, anti-bureaucracy, Libertarian, pro-choice, more, more, more. Barred from debates. Left GOP to run as Libertarian. CA Nominee and national nominee- Congrats!
- Ed Noonan-W- American Independent Party. Constitutional Conservative. Challenges Obama's eligibility. Shares some of Ron Paul's monetary policy views, but more Conservative overall. CA AIP Nominee- Congrats!
- Laurie Roth-W- American Independent Party- Singer, songwriter, talk show hostess (IRN-USA), actively challenges Obama's eligibility, work to make America energy independent, stop drug trade, go to only 2% consumption tax.
- John Dummett- W- CA govt. programmer, doesn't seem to have many qualifications, except common sense and intelligence, which I suppose puts him ahead of the incumbent, whose eligibility he actively challenges, along with the 16th Amendment.
The dates and venues have been announced for the 2012 Presidential debates between President Obama and the eventual GOP nominee. The date for the Vice Presidential debate has also been announced.
Ticketing for the 2012 general election debates is controlled by the Commission on Presidential Debates and tickets will be extremely limited. The majority of tickets are distributed to university students and faculty through a lottery system with the remaining tickets going to friends and families of the campaigns and the media.

So, we're down to Romney. John Dummett is still running, but the big parties and media will make sure you don't hear much about him. The third party candidates lack money, support and publicity to do much. Cody Robert Judy is the only opposition Democrat running with any visibility at all, but not TV or debates. Instead, he is more in the courts, suing Obama over his ineligibility to run, as are candidates such as Ed Noonan (AIP), Laurie Roth (I). Republicans are eerily silent about that 300 lb. gorilla. even with very strong evidence to back it up. Unfortunately, millions are expected not to vote over their dissatisfaction with Progressive Republican nominee Romney. We caution you about that. PLEASE consider the alternative. Are you willing to put an ineligible incumbent back in office to make your point?

Ron,
You’ve probably seen a lot of stories this week about how Mitt Romney just lost the election by choosing Paul Ryan for his running mate. I think those thoughts are dangerously misplaced. Here’s why:
Ryan is THE most effective weapon the other side has. He makes the argument for austerity with passion, poise and skill. He is a true believer. Vice President Biden better eat his Wheaties before the debate.
If they win, they can claim a clear mandate to destroy everything that made the American Dream possible. And even if they lose, they'll shift the debate to the right so that any December ‘grand bargain’ will only cut Medicare a little instead of a lot. They'll have the whole country thinking America is "broke," when the truth is that a handful of the super-rich are bleeding us dry and cutting the net out from under the middle class.
Here’s the real truth: America is NOT broke, America is Being Robbed.
We can prevail. But we have to bring our A game. We need to defeat their arguments, not push watered-down alternatives. So today, we're launching a BIG campaign to get this message out there: America is Being Robbed.
Americans already suspect the game is rigged against them. They're just looking for who to blame, and who has a plan to fix things. We've got a chance to break through. We need to frame the terms of the debate and win the war of ideas. If we don't, even a victory in November won't stop the worst of the 1% from tearing down the American Dream.
So here's our plan. From now through the election and on into December, we will:
Engage artists to change public opinion. We won't persuade people with more fact sheets and numbers. We need to organize artists and musicians to create inspiring projects that expose how Americans are being robbed every day by banks, corporations and the politicians that they own.
Make it an election issue. Get candidates to go on the record on our issues by filling out the 99Elect questionnaire, and use campaigns and in-district events to show which candidates are willing to help stop the robbery (even if they need a push sometimes) -- and which ones are driving the getaway car.
Expose the villains and lift up the victims. Expose the people who are dodging taxes, taking subsidies and ripping us off. We'll use advertising and public pressure, and tirelessly work the media to put the heartbreaking stories of their victims front and center.
Educate and explain. The right uses complexity as a weapon of deception to hide how a handful of people are robbing America. We're going to share graphics, videos, and stories, and provide you the tools to tell this story in your community with online message trainings led by some of the best progressive communicators in the business.
Are you in? We need to raise $100,000 for a multi-month campaign of this magnitude. Even $10 today will help, big time.
The most eye-opening part of my job is getting to meet and talk to so many people. We talk in airports, in church basements, in coffee shops. They tell me about losing the homes they raised their kids in. Picking up groceries at the food bank they used to give to. Struggling to make rent because they were scammed into a student loan with all sorts of extra fees.
Wanting to work. Begging to work. But finding no jobs because big corporations are hoarding profits instead of hiring and Washington D.C. just doesn't seem to care.
Somehow, Washington has made the whole conversation about budget numbers. But it's not. It's about people who are hurting. We can never forget that. We CANNOT back down.
Thanks,
Van, and the rest of the Rebuild the Dream team

MSNBC’s Touré: Romney Engaging In The ‘Niggerization’ Of Obama
http://www.mediaite.com/tv/msnbcs-toure-to-panel-romney-engaging-in...
“I know it’s a heavy thing, I don’t say it lightly, but this is ‘niggerization,’” Touré said to the apparent shock of his co-panelists. “You are not one of us, you are like the scary black man who we’ve been trained to fear.”
Wait, wasn't it Biden who said something about "...putting you back in chains" and El Presidente said he saw nothing wrong with that comment? I am having a hard time seeing clearly who the real racists are in this campaign. Actually, it is not that hard. With no record to run on we will be confronted with dirty, Chicago-style politics....so much for 'Mr. Hope 'n Change'!
November’s Choices
Sounds like Napolitano's for "none of the above"
The Republican party seriously delegitimized itself with electoral fraud this year.
http://frontporchpolitics.com/2012/08/ron-paul-delegates-decertifie...
Washington (CNN) - Ron Paul's presidential campaign isn't done fighting for more delegates at the Republican National Convention.
The Texas congressman's campaign sent a memo to the all RNC members, its counsel's office and the convention's credentials committee Friday evening, ahead of its second appeal to strip Louisiana of its delegates to the convention because of rules that it says were violated during the state convention.
– Follow the Ticker on Twitter: @PoliticalTicker
– Follow Adam Levy on Twitter: @AdamPLevyCNN
The first appeal was rejected by the committee earlier this month.
"There's no way you can argue with a straight face that rules weren't changed," said Charlie Davis, Louisiana chairman of the Ron Paul campaign.
In the days leading up to the Republican Party of Louisiana's state convention in June, an affidavit and supplemental rules were distributed to participants. The affidavit required the signature of delegates selected to go to the national convention to vote for the candidate they were bound to by the State Central Committee.
Paul's supporters refused to sign the affidavit because it gave the power to the state executive committee to replace unallocated delegates.
Instead, they had their own vote at the state convention in protest of the party's rules.
"The affidavit and supplemental rules systemically changed the way that Louisiana elected National Delegates," Davis wrote in the memo. "Both documents are clear violations of the national requirement that all rules must have been submitted to the RNC last October 1."
Jason Doré, executive director of the state party, said the campaign was aware the affidavit and rules were coming and that draft versions were sent in the days leading up to the state convention.
"We had received letters from (the Mitt) Romney and (Rick) Santorum campaigns stating who they wanted their delegates to be," Doré said. "We worked very long to make sure that we had an affidavit that was similar to other state parties' that was enforceable that prevented delegate stealing."
Davis said they were only sent out in the two days leading up to the convention.
The Paul campaign is requesting contestants and respondents be given time to cross-examine those who filed an affidavit. It is also requesting electronic communication between the RNC and Louisiana Republican Party staffs - which it says coordinated the rules - be turned over to the committee.
The Committee on Contests will make a recommendation to the party based on the hearing, scheduled for Tuesday. The credentials committee will then vote to recommend that the entire convention keep or strip the current delegates.
"I feel strongly that the facts are on our side," Davis said. "I know the wheels of justice move slowly. I think eventually enough people will investigate what happened and that our delegates will be seated."
"I think that it's unfortunate that the state party and a lot of our people, our time has been tied up by this for the past couple of months to the convention instead of working to defeat Barack Obama," Doré said.
2012 primaries and convention are a shameful episode in GOP history.
We all are aware of the importance of the upcoming election. For the most part we are focused on job and healthcare issues. But there is an even more telling reason this election is important to the future of America.
There are four factors that need to be considered before deciding how to cast our votes:
1. Justice Scalia just turned 78.
2. Justice Kennedy will turn 78 later this year.
3. Justice Breyer was 76 on August 4.
4. Justice Ginsburg is 81.
It is very likely that the next president could appoint several new Justices. This election, then, is about the delicate balance of the Supreme Court.
The obvious fact is that whoever America elects as her next president in November is almost certainly going to choose at least one new member of the Supreme Court, probably more, thereby impacting the current 5-4 balance.
Consider the grave importance of which person picks the next Justice: Mitt Romney or Barack Obama.
Just think how passionate the Progressive Left is going to be to keep control of THIS power in the upcoming crucial four years. Their biggest fear is to lose this power of setting the course of the country for a long, long
time.
This could well explain why the Left has gone so starkly negative. They have no choice (their record is dismal). The base of the Progressive Left has no intention of losing in November and the
threat of doing so is very real as they consider the Romney/Ryan ticket.
I think we can count on the fact that this will not be a fair fight; it will be a dirty, bare-knuckled, Chicago-style fight to the finish.
I have a big problem with “Libertarians” or “Losertarians” as I sometimes call them. This hurts me personally as I am a supporter of libertarian (Small L) or constitutional thought and practice.
It’s because they cheapen whole definition of politics…You’re talking about thousands of people over election after election, wasting their time, accomplishing absolutely nothing.
I take politics very seriously. If God forbid, there had been a switch of 300 votes in Florida, if 300 people had voted differently or if 500 Republicans had decided to stay home, we would have had a very different presidential history right now. This is serious business.
These people are of course exercising their rights, but I think it’s about time, particularly with a party that has been around as long as the “Libertarians”, for people to point out that the Emperor has no clothes. They’re not gaining support, they’re losing support.
One of the big lies in American history is that third parties have played a prominent or constructive role, they never have. They’ve only played a destructive role. The Republican party was never a third party. This is another one of the big lies. The reason I say it was never a third party is because the first year the Republicans offered candidates under the name “Republican,” in 1864, they elected almost 200 members of Congress. They were second only to the Democrats.
I think it’s possible for one party to collapse as the Whigs did and then for another party to replace it. But, we’ve never had a situation where third parties have achieved anything in America. Let me give you a good example. People look on the Teddy Roosevelt campaign for president in 1912 as a great success with the Bull Moose Party. He got 27% of the vote, which is more than any other third party candidate ever got. The purpose of his campaign as historians recall was basically to move the Republican party in a more progressive direction. But what he did was killed the progressive wing of the Republican party, he killed it dead.
Because basic logic here, you do not influence a major political party by leaving it. You influence a major political party by staying in it and fighting for the ideas and the candidates you care about. This is so simple that my 11 year old son could understand it, but obviously there are a lot of “Libertarians” who don’t get it.
The reason I enjoy talking to these guys is because they are so utterly incapable of answering the question, “Ok, what have you accomplished with all of your activism?” The answer is absolutely nothing except electing a bunch of ultra-liberal Democrats and big government types like Maria Cantwell. The Senator from Washington state, Maria Cantwell, would not be in office were it not for the “Libertarians”. She beat Slade Gorton by less than 3000 votes and the “Libertarian” candidate got 66,000 votes. That kind of outcome is sad and appalling and it’s unfair to decent people who work seriously in politics.
What would happen should the Libertarians be "successful" once again and cause the re-election of Obama and his packing of the Court with enemies of our Constitution?
So, Don, you managed to totally avoid discussing the illegal and unethical behavior of the Republican party. The discussion was not of the Libertarian Party, but Ron Paul running in the REPUBLICAN party and being subjected to criminal action, by the same people who tell us only Democrats do that shameful stuff. In case you hadn't heard, Paul was running Republican. Gary Johnson is the Libertarian candidate. I supported Michele Bachmann, until she dropped out.
I have stayed and fought in the Republican Party for years. Have you? I'm a delegate, vet and support candidates, sponsor events, stay informed, try to inform others. It is getting worse, not better. I am scandalized by the poor quality of many of the candidates/officials, poor conduct of RINO's like Boehner, McCain, Graham, Maldonado, etc. As far as I'm concerned, they are not real Republicans.
In the past year, the state party bypassed the wishes of party members and delegates alike, making secret decisions on policy matters, attempting to enact a RINO platform and using an elite committee to force endorsments. Please tell me how any of that promotes Republican democratic (with a small d) principles and how it will attract young, idealistic members and minorities. It won't. It hasn't.
The national campaigns were steered toward Romney, who is a NWO RINO at best. Yes, he's better than Obama, but we have been maneuvered into a NWO RINO candidate every Presidential election since Reagan, who was a phenomenal anomaly, left the White House. It seems as though any time someone who didn't fit that mold arose, he/she was attacked and destroyed in a month or two.
I'm tired of being told I have to vote for Republicans, no matter how bad they are, how much they spend, how much they violate the Constitution. Aren't you?
This year, I see no alternative because no other organization is strong enough to root out Obama and other hard lefty Progressives. Don't count on people sitting still for that anymore. The Democrats certainly aren't the answer, but Republicans are only marginally better at this time. It is quite possible that another movement will sweep the country, which could result in sweeping away the GOP or weakening it so much that the Democrats will end up in power, until it can be strong enough to prevail over them. There is nothing written in stone that more than two parties can't survive and prosper. In many countries, that's exactly what happens. However, laws here are written to minimize the effect of other parties.
I'm not aware that the Libertarian Party has even drawn enough votes away to affect any elections. The Republicans are good at ably losing on their own. What they have done, though, is lose a lot of voters off the rolls altogether, because of disillusionment with the political process. I think that happens on both sides, though.
Not just Supreme Court appointments are at stake, but other judiciary posts, many other appointments, bill signing, executive orders, policy decisions, etc. The worst "President" ever, the most at stake ever. This is do or die. Having failed to get him out on ineligibility, failed to get him impeached for one of dozens of impeachable crimes, the electoral system is the last remaining peaceful (omitting the Black Panthers) course of action open to us.

How can we stand up to someone that creates a 100 dollar Federal Reserve (FR) note for 2 cents and uses the face value of the note of 100 dollars to buy a 100 dollar U.S. Security where the government has to pay them 4% in interest at the end of the year? “Capital must protect itself in every possible way, both by combination and legislation. Debts must be collected, mortgages foreclosed as rapidly as possible. When, through the process of law, the common people lose their homes, they will become more docile and more easily governed through the strong arm of government applied by a central power of wealth under leading financiers. These truths are well known among our principal men who are now engaged in forming an imperialism to govern the world. By dividing the voter through the political party system, we can get them to expend their energies in fighting for questions of no importance. It is thus by discreet action we can secure for ourselves that which has been so well planned and so successfully accomplished.”

Nonetheless, in a land where every mewling babe in the American nursery is born with a debt burden of just under $200,000, the president brags that only his party is 'compassionate' to have no plan whatsoever even to attempt to do anything about this, no way, no how, not now, not ever." --columnist Mark Steyn
