"The penalty for not participating in politics is to be governed by your inferiors." - Plato
The Presidency is the big political prize. With the worst "president" ever as the incumbent, who is already campaigning, you would think he is in deep trouble, but he could actually win, especially if the GOP fumbles-- and they did.
Looks like we have Barack Hussein Obama-Soetoro-Soebarkah-Bounel back and he will be much worse the second time around, full of himself, arrogant, spoiling for revenge, no more elections, "flexibility" for Vladmir, making energy prices "skyrocket," increasing Socialism, deploying Czars, borrowing, spending, QE, taxes,Supreme Court "Justices," especially if the Senate rolls over like last term.
For all practical purposes, we are down to only two viable candidates, AKA Obama and Romney. The battle is on.
Mitt Romney, Nominated by GOP 8-28-12
Mitt Picks Paul Ryan for VP
Gary Johnson, Libertarian Nominee
Ed Noonan, CA AIP Nominee
A stacked AIP convention ignored the will of the voters and picked Tom Hoefling as its nominee. Why should they be any different from the Republicrats?
- Mitt Romney- W- Bright, highly successful businessman/consultant, Romneycare issue, baggage, flip-flopped on choice, cap/trade, amnesty, now denying "warming," or is he? Opposes SB1070, RINO. Polling well. Choice of GOP hierarchy. Possible eligibility questions. Won NH, 2nd in SC. Won FL big. CA Nominee and national nominee as of 8-28-12- Congrats!
- Gary Johnson- W- Former successful businessman (construction), 2-time former New Mexico Governor, anti-tax, anti-bureaucracy, Libertarian, pro-choice, more, more, more. Barred from debates. Left GOP to run as Libertarian. CA Nominee and national nominee- Congrats!
- Ed Noonan-W- American Independent Party. Constitutional Conservative. Challenges Obama's eligibility. Shares some of Ron Paul's monetary policy views, but more Conservative overall. CA AIP Nominee- Congrats!
- Laurie Roth-W- American Independent Party- Singer, songwriter, talk show hostess (IRN-USA), actively challenges Obama's eligibility, work to make America energy independent, stop drug trade, go to only 2% consumption tax.
- John Dummett- W- CA govt. programmer, doesn't seem to have many qualifications, except common sense and intelligence, which I suppose puts him ahead of the incumbent, whose eligibility he actively challenges, along with the 16th Amendment.
The dates and venues have been announced for the 2012 Presidential debates between President Obama and the eventual GOP nominee. The date for the Vice Presidential debate has also been announced.
Ticketing for the 2012 general election debates is controlled by the Commission on Presidential Debates and tickets will be extremely limited. The majority of tickets are distributed to university students and faculty through a lottery system with the remaining tickets going to friends and families of the campaigns and the media.

So, we're down to Romney. John Dummett is still running, but the big parties and media will make sure you don't hear much about him. The third party candidates lack money, support and publicity to do much. Cody Robert Judy is the only opposition Democrat running with any visibility at all, but not TV or debates. Instead, he is more in the courts, suing Obama over his ineligibility to run, as are candidates such as Ed Noonan (AIP), Laurie Roth (I). Republicans are eerily silent about that 300 lb. gorilla. even with very strong evidence to back it up. Unfortunately, millions are expected not to vote over their dissatisfaction with Progressive Republican nominee Romney. We caution you about that. PLEASE consider the alternative. Are you willing to put an ineligible incumbent back in office to make your point?

Good point. But, I don't agree that ALL of our major problems are entirely caused by govt. To some extent, people get the govt. that they deserve. Many of us are lazy, selfish, dishonest, want handouts or special advantages. Many people have lost their faith and direction. Is that ALL the govt's. fault? I think not.
Name a really national problem that is not caused by government. Actually it's passed my bedtime. List them out for me and I'll address them in the morning. G'nite George.
Loss of faith and spirituality by masses of people. I've heard some say that govt. discourages it and fosters dependence, but they may have cause and effect reverseed.
Higher divorce rate. Some say welfare, etc encourages it, but it's higher in all classes than it was decades ago.
Rick was endorsed at a Republican Assembly Convention recently.
Government welfare, etc. removes all incentives to work and take responsibility for ones selv, family and community. Also government is sucessfully taking away the role of churches and charities to do good works and unite their communities to help the needy. There are no major ongoing problems that are not caused &/or perpetrated by government.
Those who claim elections are rigged usually belong to the tin foil hat brigade of the local chapter of the flat earth society. Rigging elections, while not impossible, is very difficult. Gaming them is not only legal but doable.
Are we about to see the ultimate in gamed elections?
We are seeing it.
It is the Ron Paul game.
Ron Paul’s supporters are not Republicans. They are mostly libertarians and other bizarre political creatures. Ron Paul has never done well in a Republican battle before. Yes he has his core group of supporters, but until now he has been the Harold Stassen of the 21st Century.
Who are Ron Paul’s supporters?
For the most part, they are not Republicans. And as Ron Paul gains “traction” there is a strong likelihood many of them are Obama Democrat voters.
Why not?
Anyone remember Operation Chaos from Rush Limbaugh?
This is Operation Chaos payback from the Obama regime.
For Obama, Ron Paul has got to be a dream come true. Since Obama, shockingly enough does not have any primary opposition; Democrats can cross over easily and vote in the Republican primaries.
What better opponent could Barack Obama hope for than a crazy old man, with a history of racist statements, who subscribes to every nutty conspiracy theory that comes down the pike, including being a 9/11 truther.
For Obama, Ron Paul is a better opponent than even the massively flawed Mitt Romney.
For Republicans, Ron Paul is the ultimate disaster. In conservative states, such as Virginia and North Carolina, Ron Paul’s crazy social views would see winnable states move from undecided to Obama. Iowa, which has a strong evangelical base for the Republican Party would not turn out for Ron Paul as the nominee. Iowa is a toss up state now, but not if Ron Paul is the nominee.
And then there is Florida.
Obama’s standing with the Jewish community is badly damaged. Against almost any other Republican candidate, Obama will draw less than half the Jewish vote. If that candidate is Ron Paul, he will get almost all of it and that will be enough to put Florida in Obama’s column. Put another way, if the GOP candidate cannot win Florida, they cannot defeat Obama.
Ron Paul will never win Florida in a general election.
Most Republicans do not want Ron Paul. When surveyed, almost 90% of Mitt Romney’s supporters identify themselves as Republican. The same is true for Newt Gingrich’s supporters. Only half of Ron Paul’s supporters do. Where is the other half coming from?
What will be the end result if Ron Paul wins the nomination?
As Yoda says, “what the future is, hard to say.”
I will never vote for Ron Paul.
There are no circumstances under which I would ever vote for Ron Paul. Period.
I know a lot of other conservatives feel that way.
What would be our options?
I’m not really sure. We would probably have to look at a third party.
The best option is for conservatives to make sure that Ron Paul gets nowhere near the nomination. That means we must stop him.
If the Republican primary were being held only among Republicans, Ron Paul would be a distant last place. Even Jon Huntsman would crush him. Why Republicans allow open primaries so that Democrats can cross over and cause mayhem, like we are currently seeing, is beyond me.
If we are going to stop Barack Obama, we must have a conservative we can unite behind. That is not Mitt Romney, who is not conservative and it is not Ron Paul who is leading the charge of the tin foil hat brigade.
Such BS!
All rigged election claims are tin foil hatted unless Don claims otherwise. LOL! Linda might tell you otherwise: http://venturacountyteaparty.ning.com/forum/topics/election-integrity
By the way, some of us don't regard the Globalist, statist RINO's running as Republicans either. Supporting "the mandate", Global Warming, cap and trade, abortion, entitlements, UN treaties superior to US law, unconstitutional entitlements, suppression of the 10th, 2nd, 1st, 4th , 5th Amendments, etc., ain't "Republican," Don. Wake up and smell the coffee. Neocon does NOT equal Conservative or even real Republican. We know the difference. Do you?
Alot of what has driven me into the Paul camp is the insanity of the Paul-haters. Anyone who is so feared by the establishment left and right as well as the insane Republibots has to be a great candidate!
The Extreme Paul-ites and Paul-haters both seem rabid to me. I get tired of one group saying the Paul-haters are all Fascists and the other calling their opposites crazy and Liberal. Neither side is correct. Let's stick to the facts, please.
My internet connection was down at home and when I come back I find more personal attacks because I don't see the world EXACTLY as each of you. I never attacked either of you personally...I attacked wRONg Paul…so calling me a NEOCON, Republobot is just casting aspersion in a petty personal attack.
I've posted wRONg Paul in his own words stating that he thinks 9/11 is our fault just like JEREMIAH WRIGHT. That, and the FACT that he is an isolationist is enough for me to believe he isn't fit for the office of President. MY OPINION AND CHOICE.
The other thing I'm noticing that I didn't see before is that almost all wRONg Paul disciples believe in tin foil hat conspiracy theories which continue to remain unproven despite whatever "evidence" is posted on sites like infowars etc…
I also didn't downplay the fact that wRONg Paul is "apparently" not a racist...I posted a link and said okay, apparently he isn't...but he is responsible for the newsletters. Disavowing them when you are a fringe candidate is one thing but trying to say this is "old business" is HORSE SHEITE. Especially when he and his disciples like to dig up and replay old baggage by everyone else with NEGATIVE ADS GONE WILD.
Talk about hypocrite...
Constitution? Name your article/section and/or amendment of whatever you are trying to assert is too “overwhelming and bewildering” for me to comprehend.
It was my understanding this isn't a fiefdom and just because you’ve reasoned something out and say it, does NOT make it so. I’m ISSUES based. I like A LOT of what Newt has proposed in his 21st Century contract… and I like him WAY BETTER than Romney so if it comes down to those two I’m Newt all the way. Deal with it or not. It troubles me that Senator Coburn has stated he is against Newt because I think Coburn is a good man as politicians go.
Newt may still be progressive but he is conservative and much of the new contract deals with DOWNSIZING government and REIGNING IN THE “SUPREME” COURT. He has issues like the mandate and progressive tendencies but I LIKE HIS WILLLINGNESS TO TELL IT LIKE IT IS (Palestine, out of control judiciary that should NOT be given further chances to render the decisions of lunacy that require overturning) and would be a VAST improvement over Obama.
Government isn’t the solution to the problem it is the problem as Reagan said and I think Newt might be a transitional President on the way to a non progressive limited government conservative one depending on his choice of VP.
I don’t like Paul for the aforementioned reasons, his Anti-Israel/Pro-Palestinian views/statements and especially his chicken sheite attack on Bachmann and Santorum on Jay Leno recently. What a pin headed putz.
I’ve liked and contributed monetarily to Bachmann but there many things that have happened during this campaign that have turned me off.
I like Santorum but almost all of his debate performances were too feisty so I didn’t think he had a shot. I hope he does with the ground he is covering in Iowa…and speaking of which, why don’t you call him a NEOCON?
I agree with much of the angst both of you have stated regarding our bloated nanny government state and think our foreign policy should be reigned in to a MIDDLE GROUND between what we have and isolationism.
I also think it's pretty clear via history that the only way to have peace is to be the one with the biggest stick in the yard. Nations will ALWAYS try to overthrow other nations and we have been EXTREMELY fortunate to have had what peace we have had via treaties and yes, war.
Radical Islam will NEVER stop in it's attempt to purify the world of infidels (no matter what we do or do not) and that is just "one" of the realities around which our foreign policy must be based.
And you know what really pisses me off.. we are THE GOOD GUYS. When people look for help they look to the USA because we represent the GOOD. Is there evil within our ranks, of course, where you find mankind you find evil hearts of men but that is NOT who we are.
If you want to call me NEOCON, RINO, Globalist, Statist (yeah right) go ahead…I don’t care what you label me…I look at issues independently and want a candidate who has a clear delineated plan for which he can be held accountable and can actually get sheite done in case the GOP doesn’t win the Senate.
I'm probably done posting here since I don't need personal attacks so you win..and, FWIW, my worldview for the most part is classical liberal...not new deal statisist.
