Will YOU Save Freedom? Catch The Tea Party Wave

By popular demand, we created this forum to cover almost any topic your heart desires.  The Forum name, "Open Mike" refers to the tradition that some comedy and music clubs have of offering all comers the opportunity to perform live impromptu at their establishments, with any material they come up with that is consistent with the theme and policies of that organization (in our case, the Mission statement in "Read Me" section), We'll even consider stuff not consistent, if you can persuade us that changes are needed.

I agree with that.

The man made a mistake and admits that he should have done more due dilligence.

Here’s Rep. West explanation from his newsletter:

FY 2012 Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies Appropriations – On Thursday, June 16, the House approved H.R. 2112 by a vote of 217-203, I voted YES. The bill would provide a total of $17.25 billion in non-emergency, discretionary budget authority in FY 2012 for government programs funded through the Agriculture and Rural Development Appropriations Act.

The bill would represent a decrease of $2.67 billion or 13 percent below the FY 2011 funding level and a reduction of $5.03 billion or 22 percent below the President’s request. H.R. 2112 meets and surpasses House Republican’s pledge by bringing discretionary budget authority for Agriculture and related agencies down to nearly FY 2006 spending levels.

There were some 40 amendments to this piece of legislation and there are those who questioned my NO vote on Rep. Steve King’s amendment on Pigford.

I accept full responsibility for not doing a complete due diligence and personal research on this amendment. I am mortal and a fallible human being who seeks to do his best daily, and improve as such.”

----------------

We should curb this growing disposition to eat our own, to shoot our own wounded, to turn on our allies at the first sign of any disagreement.

Pigford is only one of multiple West problems. Did he admit yet that he made a "mistake" on voting for what is a de facto $7 trillion expansion of spending? I'm just pointing out that he hasn't lived up to the deification program pushed by his promoters.

I'll admit that I'm quite disappointed in general with the Congress voted in with the 2010 elections, which hasn't come close to living up to discharging their OATH taken to our Constitution. Higher spending, oppressive new laws, failure to check Obama, failure to enact Conservative principles. We have a faux "President" who has committed dozens of impeachable offenses. So far. Impeachment articles have been filed, but sit idle in committee. Fast and Furious has festered for years. Other offenses are simply  ignored.  The standard answer is that they need more info, the "election will take care of it" or no response. The House point blank refuses to address that Obama is not even eligible for the office.

Allen West voted for NDAA 2012 with sections 1021 and 1022 intact. Has he apologized for that yet?

Coyote Tale...

(forwarded by Dede)

The Governor of California is jogging with his dog along a nature trail. A coyote jumps out and attacks the Governor's dog, then bites the Governor.

The Governor starts to intervene, but reflects upon the movie "Bambi" and then realizes he should stop because the coyote is only doing what is natural.

He calls Animal Control. Animal Control captures the coyote and bills the State $200 testing it for diseases and $500 for relocating it.

He calls a veterinarian. The vet collects the dead dog and bills the State $200 testing it for diseases.

The Governor goes to hospital and spends $3,500 getting checked for diseases from the coyote and on getting his bite wound bandaged.

The running trail gets shut down for 6 months while Fish & Game conducts a $100,000 survey to make sure the area is now free of dangerous animals.

The Governor spends $50,000 in state funds implementing a "coyote awareness program" for residents of the area.

The State Legislature spends $2 million to study how to better treat rabies and how to permanently eradicate the disease throughout the world.

The Governor's security agent is fired for not stopping the attack. The State spends $150,000 to hire and train a new agent with additional special training regarding the nature of coyotes.

PETA protests the coyote's relocation and files a $5 million suit against the State.

TEXAS:

The Governor of Texas is jogging with his dog along a nature trail. A coyote jumps out and attacks his dog.

The Governor shoots the coyote with his State-issued pistol and keeps jogging. The Governor has spent $0.50 on a .45 ACP hollow point cartridge.

The buzzards eat the dead coyote.

And that, my friends, is why California is broke and Texas is not.

Allen West targeted by new Soros-backed SuperPAC

Allen West is on the top 10 target list for Democrats this year, Dem SuperPAC targeting “Tea Party 10″.

For that reason, among others, West is on the Operation Counterweight list, and we have a separate Focus Page with his website and other links.

Now a SuperPAC has been formed specifically to get rid of West, as reported by The Shark Tank:

Top national Democratic operative Charles Halloran has been retained by a new George Soros-backed super-PAC to target Congressman Allen West for defeat this November.  Halloran is a former aide to President Bill Clinton and is one of the most respected voter targeting/turn out experts in the Democratic Party.  Halloran ran the successful campaign of Democrat Tim Mahoney that won the seat of former Republican Congressman Mark Foley.

The Super PAC has been christened “Dump West” and is expected to file with the Federal Election Commission early next week.  Sources have told The Shark Tank that a website along with a targeted web advertising campaign will soon be launched.  Democratic House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi asked former Congressman Larry Smith, who’s now working as a lobbyist, to help line up initial funding for the group. West is said to be at the top of Pelosi’s hit list.

Sources have also us that left wing billionaire George Soros is among those who committed to a $5 million war chest to defeat West.

Fighting Stereotypes: Rush delivers a great monologue on who Democr...

This is a great rant by Rush spurred on by Sigourney Weaver telling David Gregory that the Democrats are the party who want to help people and Republicans are the party who want to help business. Rush spends the next few minutes destroying that stereotype and describing practically who Democrats really are and what they believe.

Thank You, Road

by Keith Koffler on July 18, 2012, 1:21 pm

I’ve decided not to work today.
It’s a bit of a perilous decision, because this is a job where if you don’t work, you really can’t survive very long. Readers have lots of other options. It’s basically a job where I eat what I kill, every day.
But I feel comfortable not working today because I know I have help:
The road outside my window.
The road, which was built by Obama – or someone like him – brings me all the stuff I need to do my job. Because I’m not really responsible for my business. The road is.
So I’m going to spend today with my feet up on the table – until my wife makes me take them off – and stare out the window, watching the road do its work.
And then, after lunch, I’m going to go over to the sink, and run the faucet.
Because I want to remind myself I don’t send the water to my house. Other people do this. These people, combining their efforts within a public utility, get me the water I use to bathe myself and make my coffee. And I know full well that without soap and caffeine, I would never have been able to build this blog.
And then I’m going to go over to the computer and surf for awhile on the Internet, which was invented for me by DARPA and Al Gore. The Internet brings my readers to me.
Why should I bust my back for 12 hours today when I have all this beneficence working for me?
Actually, I’ve decided to spend several days doing nothing, letting all these gifts from the government work their magic.
And then, after a week of this, I’m going to head to the unemployment office and sign up to start getting more gifts from the government.

Marco Rubio throws Bachmann and other GOP under the bus over letter about Huma Abedin

It seems to me that Rubio hasn’t even read the letter based on his comments, yet he is completely disassociating himself from it in an interview with NPR:

THE HILL – Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) expressed disagreement with a letter authored by Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Fla.) and a number of other House Republicans claiming that a top aide to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is an infiltrator in the U.S. government for the Muslim Brotherhood.

The letter claimed that Huma Abedin, deputy chief of staff to Clinton and wife of former Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.), is connected to the Brotherhood.

“I am not a signatory to that letter,” Rubio said in an interview on “The Diane Rehm Show” on Thursday. “I didn’t even know the letter had gone out, to be honest with you, and I don’t share the feelings that are in that letter. Obviously, every member of Congress has a right to express their opinion and every member of Congress is held accountable for those opinions, if they’re right or if they’re wrong.

“I can tell you that I don’t share the feelings that are in that letter from anything I’ve seen and heard,” Rubio continued. “And in fact, I’m very very careful and cautious about ever making accusations like that about anybody.”

First of all Bachmann’s letter NEVER suggested “is an infiltrator in the U.S. government for the Muslim Brotherhood”. That’s a false characterization made by The Hill. The letter merely noted the connections Abedin’s family has to the Muslim Brotherhood which goes exactly to the point of potential divided loyalties. In other words, could her family members or others sway her to do something that she wouldn’t normally do?

As far as Rubio my guess is that he has fallen prey to a typical media tactic of trying to pit Republicans against one another and has found himself taking a side without knowing all the facts. He should be corrected for this.

But if it turns out he knows all the facts then what he said is just ridiculous and he should be called out for it.

NPR Audio:  http://www.therightscoop.com/marco-rubio-throws-bachmann-and-other-...

Rubio is a jackass, once again revealing his immaturity. View his amateurish NeoCon speech at CFR. Look at his weak on illegal immigration  position. If Romney illegally picks him for VPO, it's bye-bye GOP for many.

Michele Bachmann keeps growing in stature. So, maybe she wasn't quite ready for prime time yet, yut she towers over Obozo and Rubio.

It's continued idiocy like this....which is why I'm a Registered Independent.

I was a Republican, but, I just can't right now.   Not until I see some strong leadership, making the party worth while again

I know what you mean, Missy. There aren't any other viable alternatives to the Progressives at the moment. Unfortunately, too many GOP's are Progressives, too. Support the good ones, anyway.

We need to demythologize guns before the liberal attempt to create a totemic fear of them succeeds.
