Will YOU Save Freedom? Catch The Tea Party Wave

By popular demand, we created this forum to cover almost any topic your heart desires.  The Forum name, "Open Mike" refers to the tradition that some comedy and music clubs have of offering all comers the opportunity to perform live impromptu at their establishments, with any material they come up with that is consistent with the theme and policies of that organization (in our case, the Mission statement in "Read Me" section), We'll even consider stuff not consistent, if you can persuade us that changes are needed.

Presenters for 11-12-11 Private Property Sesssion in Camarillo

Heather Gass

I was a network engineer for 17 years. I’m the author of three published works and co-author of another; TCP/IP by Pearson, IP Routing  by Pearson, Cisco Certified Network Associate by MacMillan Press and Microsoft Certification by Microsoft Press. The first three have been translated into 7 different languages and are used as text books  in many foreign and domestic universities. Other than that I founded the East Bay Tea Party and have over 3000 patriots that I communicate with across the nation. Now I’m running for State Assembly in District 16.

Thomas Jefferson

At 5, began studying under his cousins tutor.

At 9, studied Latin, Greek and French.

At 14, studied classical literature and additional languages.

At 16, entered the College of William and Mary.

At 19, studied Law for 5 years starting under George Wythe.

At 23, started his own law practice.

At 25, was elected to the Virginia House of Burgesses.

At 31, wrote the widely circulated "Summary View of the Rights of British America " and retired from his law practice.

At 32, was a Delegate to the Second Continental Congress.

At 33, wrote the Declaration of Independence .

At 33, took three years to revise Virginia ’s legal code and wrote a Public Education bill and a statute for Religious Freedom.

At 36, was elected the second Governor of Virginia succeeding Patrick Henry.

At 40, served in Congress for two years.

At 41, was the American minister to France and negotiated commercial treaties with European nations along with Ben
Franklin and John Adams.

At 46, served as the first Secretary of State under George Washington.

At 53, served as Vice President and was elected president of the American Philosophical Society.

At 55, drafted the Kentucky Resolutions and became the active head of Republican Party.

At 57, was elected the third president of the United States .

At 60, obtained the Louisiana Purchase doubling the nation’s size.

At 61, was elected to a second term as President.

At 65, retired to Monticello .

At 80, helped President Monroe shape the Monroe Doctrine.

At 81, almost single-handedly created the University of Virginia and served as its first president.

At 83, died on the 50th anniversary of the Signing of the Declaration of Independence .

John F. Kennedy held a dinner in the white House for a group of the brightest minds in the nation at that time. He made this statement: "This is perhaps the assembly of the most intelligence ever to gather at one time in the White House with the exception of when Thomas Jefferson dined alone."

Some pithy Jefferson quotations:

When we get piled upon one another in large cities, as in Europe, we shall become as corrupt as Europe .

The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not.

It is incumbent on every generation to pay its own debts as it goes. A principle which if acted on would save one-half the wars of the world.

I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.

My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government.

No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms.

The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.

The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

To compel a man to subsidize with his taxes the propagation of ideas which he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical.

And Thomas Jefferson said in 1802:

I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive
the people of all property - until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.

Many Republicans agree that it is imperative to get Obama out of office as soon as possible. The conventional GOP wisdom is that we will vote him out and replace him 1/20/11. But, it’s conceivable that we could lose, or another opponent, such as Hillary run and win, or even that extraordinary circumstances delay or even cancel the election. Every day he stays in office, major financial, security and social damage are inflicted upon our beloved nation. It is beyond tolerable and beyond urgent to act sooner.

Obama has an extraordinary weakness that the media and officials are covering up. His paper trail doesn’t back up his claims of who he is. We have documented proof of all that follows. Let’s start with an easy one. The Social Security number he is using, 042-68-4425, isn’t his.  He failed an eVerify test. The number was issued to a man in Connecticut around 1977. There are numerous records linking this number and at least 15 others to Barack Obama, his then current addresses and documents, verified by commercial financial databases, by multiple private investigators. His Selective Service application used the number mentioned and is written on a form not developed for years after the purported application date, The log number indicates it was entered in 2008. The SSN also appears in digital document history of a an Obama tax return released.

Legal interpretations of the Constitution, Article II, Section I, Clause 5, suggest that a natural born citizen (Not Native born, NOT naturalized) is someone born in the USA of two citizen parents, based upon the Minor vs. Happersett ruling and much other material. Since Obama’s father was a British citizen when Obama was allegedly born, this probably means Obama is NOT natural born.  It would require a judicial hearing to get a clear ruling, but enormous efforts have been made by Obama to avoid this.

There is also a question about the authenticity of the long awaited long-form birth certificate, finally released, but only in digital form, with no objective vetting of the original. Dozens of credible document experts have declared it a fraud, with no credible rebuttals.  This is so mind-boggling that MSM and officials have not reacted to criminal complaints filed with the FBI.  Again, we have documented proof for ALL of this.  There is much, much more, if you are interested.

Why we should act:

1. This is NOT a “conspiracy theory.” It is backed by extensive, solid evidence, enough to eject him, needing only official cooperation now.

2.  It's important enough to "go to the mat" on- Constitution, national security, avoid bad precedent issues.

3. It's bad strategy to wait and try to address it via 2012 election, which extends our exposure until at least 1/13, if not longer, in extraordinary circumstances.

4. Even if we don't get him out now, the evidence and terrible publicity will cripple any possible re-election chances. This would make it easier to get a suitable candidate elected, instead of what we think would win in a tighter race.

5. Removal on eligibility grounds could nullify all "Obama" actions.

1st amendment rights?

I am a lifelong liberal/progressive, though I hold one or two ideas consistent with those of the Tea Party; in particular, I think the Fed is an insidious, out of control poison.   I have made it my business of late to try and find areas where both the Tea Party AND progressives can get together.  Here is (or certainly should be) one:

Whatever your political persuasion, your right to advocate  will quickly be neutered unless ALL of us fight back against a government which does as it finds convenient, regardless of the rights of those who pay the bills.

Please, try to disregard whatever distaste you may feel toward the cause of the woman in the video.  It could happen to YOU!!!

Assuming it really went down as she said it did, it is more evidence of govt and police state mentality out of control. There is some evidence of OWS deliberately provoking controversy, but videos I have seen make some of the cops look  like  they were on steroids, speed and watching Hitler speeches beforehand.

While I disagree with some of the the OWS viewpoints, we have a 1st Amendment that is quite clear about EVERYONE's right to assemble and speak out.

Especially disturbing was her description about being taken away to another precinct and hidden away. Those are police state techniques. And then, there are the laws forbidding masks (!), bullhorns, etc.  I saw videos of what appeared to be unnecessary bully-boy police techniques. They seem to forget that they are OUR servants,  not vice-versa.  reminders are in order.

You will notice that the Tea Party people are smart enough to avoid all that stuff. We call police in advance, give them details about what we will be doing. We also have our own security, intelligence and communications people at rallies.  Our people are also far better behaved, clean up after themselves, and don't normally defecate on police cars, rape fellow protestors, have drug parties, or sing F____  America songs, at least not at rallies.

Since the MSM attempts to ignore or trivialize our rallies (such as 1MM+ in DC), we have adopted other techniques.

Well....thank GOD we can agree on this.  As much as I may disagree with anyone else's message, this is the underpinning of our common freedom; even if only the freedom to disagree.  If the "other guy" doesn't enjoy the protections of the first amendment, then neither will WE!!!

One guy on Facebook thought that local laws trumped the Constitution; that the states and municipalities can enact legislation that is immune from Federal oversight.  Article six would seem to contradict this.....what do you think?

I can certainly get behind you on wanting the Constitution  to be upheld!!  Even if some of the OWS are trying to provoke arrest, the "felony take downs" the police are using, five-to-one on peaceful protesters, while kneeling on the necks or chests of people....why?

I like the point the woman makes: "if it can happen to me, it can happen to you".

I definitely agree, bro.  The statist mentality in the late, great USA is out of control. Both big parties are at fault.

However, when we start talking about unconstitutional laws which are trumping the Constitution now, we have Obamacare, "Patriot" Act, the new food bill, TARP, Stimulus, Cars for Clunkers, Federal Reserve and more, In the last few years, the Supreme Court has basically voided the 4th Amendment and part of the 5th.  Obama/Holder are working on the 2nd. Some think that Fast and Furious was an attempt at that.

The 16th Amendment supposedly legalized income taxes, but it appears that it was never properly ratified.

Social Security and Medicare are technically unconstitutional. Even if they were ruled so, they are so ingrained in the economy that it would be impossible to shut them down all at once.  UN Agenda 21 bypassed Congress, via Presidential proclamations of Bush I and Clinton, who pusured the illegal President's Council on Sustainability, which has been pushing A21 implementation, in concert with ICLEI.

The EPA has ruled CO2, composed of basic building blocks of all known life,  a pollutant and is attempting to implement draconian restrictions, bypassing Congress.  Congress wants to tax carbon, but enough opponents have sense to stop it- so far.

The Obama adminstration is unilaterally refusing to enforce DOMA, immigration laws, election laws and is attempting to detsroy the coal and nuclear power industry, while hobbling the oil and gas industry. In the meantime, it is giving away billions to so called "clean energy" companies, which are tanking left and right.

Re: Article VI: It say federal laws Über Alles, but if the states are bucking a federal law which is unconstitutional, that's another whole ball of wax. CA vs federal marijuana laws are an excellent example.  It's amusing to see CA Liberals invoking the Tenth. The only thing missing is a "Don't Tread on Me" flag :-).  The Tenth Amendment provides lots of cover for the states to go their own way, but NOT if they violate the Constitution.

We should move this thread to the Constitutional Forum section.

I think we also agree that many of the bailouts are outright theft, the Fed is totally out of control and needs to be reined in or terminated. We also have unsound money, which is simply debt, which is backed by nothing and being inflated into oblivion: Money Supply Alert-US Money Supply Surges Surges 33% in 4 Months …

Have you seen this yet?

A license to print money.

We also agree that the big banks and some businesses have commited significant economic crimes. There are also other offenses, which are technically legal, but were only made legal through lobbying and campaign contributions to get the desired results.

A few offenses "legal" and illegal- quickly come to mind: FNME/FRE policies, Community Reinvestment Act, commodity trading rules and lack of enforcement, derivatives abuses, collateralized mortgage securities, front-running trades, trading price manipulations, repeal of Glass-Steagall Act,.

Who's Watching?

By Doug Hornig

These days, it seems like it's more or less everybody, doesn't it?

It's not just the government. Take the recent flap over OnStar. GM touts its emergency broadcast system as the greatest thing since the invention of the Chevy, and it rolls out accident survivors to attest to the need for the product.

Longtime critics of the nanny state take a more jaded view, swearing that it's only a matter of time before something like OnStar becomes mandated for all new vehicles. The move will be proclaimed as being "for our own good," of course. No mention will be made of how drivers will be forced to accept a live microphone that feeds whoever is manning the central listening post (and also recording the feed). Private car conversations will cease to be private.

But no one seems too bent out of shape about that. Nor has there been much protest about the change to OnStar's terms and conditions of service. Originally, all that OnStar was allowed to do was collect information on your vehicle's location during a theft recovery or when emergency services were called for. Now when one signs up, one grants OnStar the right to collect and sell personal, yet (allegedly) anonymous information from one's vehicle, including speed, location, seat belt usage, and who knows what all else.

And the thing is, once one has OnStar (six million of us do so far), one always has it. Thus, the company can continue to collect data even after the service is disconnected. In order to be cut off altogether, one has to specifically shut down the vehicle's data connection... if one knows how.

Bad as that was, Even it wasn't the last straw. What finally got consumers screaming, "Enough!"? It was OnStar's September announcement that under its newest terms and conditions, the company is allowed to gather data from former subscribers and peddle it to third parties.

That got even members of Congress up in arms and calling for an FTC investigation. OnStar backed off, and in late September OnStar backed down and removed the offending language from its contract. The potential for abuse of active users remains, however.

While private-sector surveillance is growing exponentially, the government is not going to be left behind. In fact, it's taking a giant leap forward with the beta testing of its Future Attribute Screening Technology (FAST). If that sounds really ominous, it's because it is.

Remember Minority Report? That's the 2002 film in which Tom Cruise played a futuristic cop in his department's "Precrime" unit, which apprehends criminals before they act, based on foreknowledge provided by dedicated psychics called "Pre-Cogs." It's good, old-fashioned sci-fi fun from the pen of Philip K. Dick and the lens of Steven Spielberg.

Only it isn't fun any longer. Or sci-fi. It's real, and it's here.

No, there aren't any psychics floating in holding tanks. Yet. (As far as I know, that is.) But the Department of Homeland Security is busy working out the kinks in FAST, according to an internal document obtained under FOIA by the Electronic Privacy Information Center.

Details are still a bit sketchy, but we know that the project was initiated in late 2008, and that the tech is being tried out on volunteers selected from the general public or from among DHS employees, if not both. In any case, DHS is building a prototype "mobile screening laboratory" that will supposedly "detect cues indicative of malintent."

In other words, like Minority Report's psychics, the DHS's machines aim to pinpoint the perpetrator of a crime, but before the fact.

Says the DHS: "The FAST program is only in the preliminary stages of research and there are no plans for acquiring or deploying this type of technology at this time." They're testing it in order not to use it. Mmmm-hmmm...

DHS adds that even if the technology were put into the field, the department has no intention of storing people's personal information. Uh huh.

GM. DHS. And how about the Fed?

The Fed? Sure, I've written much about Casey Research's disagreements with Fed policy over the years. But even I was floored to learn that the central bank has hopped onto the speeding surveillance express.

On September 16, an RFP - i.e., Request for Proposal, the standard form which puts a project up for bid - was issued by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. The RFP, filed with Fed vendors, is requesting the creation of a "Social Listening Platform" with an intended function to "gather data from various social media outlets and news sources."

The solution will be required to "monitor billions of conversations and generate text analytics based on predefined criteria." And it "must be able to gather data from the primary social media platforms - Facebook, Twitter, Blogs, Forums and YouTube," and to "handle crisis situations, continuously monitor conversations in real time, and Identify [sic] and reach out to key bloggers and influencers." It "must support content coming from different countries and geographical regions. It should also support multiple languages." Finally, it will be tasked with determin[ing] the sentiment of a speaker or writer with respect to some topic or document" and "provid[ing] sentiment analysis (positive, negative or neutral) around key conversational topics."

Wow. That's pretty comprehensive. It makes one wonder what exactly the Fed is looking for. Let them tell us. From the RFP's Introduction:

Social media platforms are changing the way organizations are communicating to the public. Conversations are happening all the time and everywhere.
There is need for the Communications Group to be timely and proactively aware of the reactions and opinions expressed by the general public as it relates to the Federal Reserve and its actions on a variety of subjects.

Awwww... they care what we think of them.

Well, that's one explanation, anyway. But actually, it's more likely that they care what we say about them. Is it difficult to envision the day when anyone who blogs, "Fiat currency must die!" gets put on a terrorist watch list? Didn't think so.

With Marshal Dillon deputizing everyone in sight like this, it just might be time to think about gettin' out of Dodge...

[Sometimes the only way to handle an alarming trend such as this is to put oneself out of its reach. Internationalizing yourself - and your wealth - was one of the topics discussed at the recently held Casey Research/Sprott Summit, When Money Dies. Audio recordings of the entire event are available now (in CD or MP3 format): get yours and start getting ready for the coming challenges.]

Velcome to zer new world elze must ve keep you in line?!?  ;)

But seriously, I just watched this:

I feel it's really worth the time to watch; some solutions are offered, and Lessig makes his points without being to ideologically strident, in my opinion.  Is this rich in common ground, or am I too optimistic?

Oh, another thing: I spoke with a retired Wall St. guy who is a client of mine. He is the only person I have met who was aware of the GAO report detailing the $16,000,000,000,000,000.00 in Fed loans.  This man said (a) that all the money had been repaid, and (b) the Fed published it's "balance" each week, and that it could be read in the London Financial Times.  Do you know about this? Is it so?

It was $16 Trillion just earlier this year.  And he claims they repaid it all? LOL!  They  must have some cash flow :-).  Not all of it was loans.

He is likely referring to TARP- $700 bllion, some of which has been repaid since 2008, but with money stolen from us, in part.  Some of that money was misappropriated, not being used for what was voted on in 2008.
