Three House Democrats have proposed a resolution that criticizes the teaching of creationism and the denial of man-made global warming as anti-science.
The resolution from Reps. Rush Holt (D-N.J.), Jim Himes (D-Conn.) and Mike Honda (D-Calif.), H.Res. 467, proposes the designation of Feb. 12 as "Darwin Day" to recognize Charles Darwin's contributions to science.

Stanford law prof: Second Amendment is about restricting gun rights
A Stanford University law professor took the view that the Second Amendment permits strong gun control, telling the crowd that “restriction has to be at the core” of the right to carry a gun.
John J. Donohue, a member of the Stanford Law School faculty, made his remarks during a debate with attorney Donald Kilmer, an adjunct professor at Lincoln Law School of San Jose.
“I support the right to self-defense,” said Donohue during the debate, according to The Stanford Review. “But that doesn’t mean that you have a right to high-capacity magazines.”
Two heads are better than one, as the old saying goes. That surely means that three heads are even better.
If there’s any truth to that saying, the establishment in Washington and progressives everywhere are likely none too pleased to hear that conservative personalities Glenn Beck, Mark Levin and Sean Hannity are on the same page and joining forces to help the country get back on what they feel is the right path.
After previously allowing themselves to be caught up in a “stupid” competitive feud in talk radio, Beck revealed on his radio show Thursday that he has spoken with Levin and Hannity and they are all ready to start to “move together.”

Health insurance rate regulation foes flex fundraising muscle
Good Friday was a good day for opponents of a ballot initiative to regulate health insurance prices.
The coalition of doctors, hospitals and insurance companies last week reported collecting nearly $24 million from Blue Shield of California and Kaiser Foundation Health Plan. Half of the money was listed as loans to the campaign.
PC Gone Wild: ‘Tom and Jerry’ Now Comes With RACIST Warning
Yes, it’s come to this. In a society where any and all things can, and probably will be considered racist at any, if not all, times comes news that one of America’s all-time favorite cartoon shows is now considered racist.
The Amazon Prime video streaming service now carries a warning label, a disclaimer, that declares that Tom and Jerry, the 75-year-old slapstick cartoon, contains “some ethnic and racial prejudices that were once commonplace in American society.”
The Amazon disclaimer continues, claiming that characters like Mammy Two Shoes, a black maid that appears in some episodes “were wrong then and are wrong today.”
Tom and Jerry has won seven Academy Awards.
Nevertheless, in a sign of political-correctness run amok, Tom and Jerry: The Complete Second Volume carries the following words of caution:
“Tom and Jerry shorts may depict some ethnic and racial prejudices that were once commonplace in American society. Such depictions were wrong then and are wrong today.”
Even in the ultra-politically U.K., the warning is receiving criticism, and Frank Furedi, a former Professor of Sociology at the University of Kent in Canterbury, saying that, “These warnings caricature and misinterpret what 40-year-old cartoons communicated. Amazon’s warnings are in-fact a performance of false piety.”
When news broke about the warning label, many people on Twitter were astounded and even enraged at the new heights of political-correctness that have been reached:
Maybe the most laughable reaction to Donald Trump's pulling out of the Paris climate accord came from European and Chinese leaders who blasted Trump and America for "surrendering its world leadership" role. The sanctimonious leaders of Asian and European nations pledged to move full speed ahead on clean energy without the United States. Be my guest.
